1 KNOWING THE 7 WEEK 4: KNOWING THE 7
2 In this module, you ll learn about the 7 systems of the body: Reproductive; Musculoskeletal; Lymphatic; Digestive; Respiratory; Circulatory; and Nervous Systems. You will learn how they function and the best foods for cleansing and rebuilding each of the 7 systems. Feel empowered by knowing how your body works and how to listen and respond to it. The Nervous System Conditions both within the body and in the environment are constantly changing. The nervous system directs the complex processes of the body s internal environment and also provides a link to the external world. This allows us to respond to changes both from internal sources as well as from external stimuli. The nervous system is broken down into two major part: the central nervous system, which includes the brain and spinal cord, and the peripheral nervous system, which includes all nerves, which carry impulses to and from the brain and spinal cord. These include our sense organs, the eyes, the ears, our sense of taste, smell and touch, as well as our ability to feel pain. 5 Foods to support this system. Walnuts Watermelon Blueberries Ginger Pinenuts Aluminum Detox 2 cups Grapes 1 Apple (cut and cored) 1 cup of Strawberries These malic acid rich fruits bind aluminum, which is implicated in memory loss and dementia. Juice these fruits in your juicer in the amounts listed above, or blend them in a blender. In a blender, add about ¼ cup of water or enough to achieve your preferred thick shake consistency. 3 The Circulatory System The Circulatory System is designed to deliver oxygen and nutrients to all parts of the body and pick up waste materials and toxins for elimination. This system is made up of the heart, the veins, the arteries, and the capillaries. 5 Foods to support this system. Beet Grapes Grapefruit Tomatoes Capsicum Circulatory Cocktail 60ml Wheatgrass 90ml Celery Juice 60ml Kale Juice 60ml Spinach Juice 30ml Lemon Juice 1 Tbsp Tamari Pinch Cayenne Pepper Drink on an empty stomach and sip slowly. 2
4 The Respiratory System The respiratory system is an intricate arrangement of spaces and passageways that conduct air from outside the body into the lungs and finally into the blood as well as expelling waste gasses. This system is responsible for the mechanical process called breathing, with the average adult breathing about 12 to 20 times per minute. Breathing is typically an involuntary process, but can be consciously stimulated or inhibited as in holding your breath. 5 Foods to support this system. Broccoli Peppermint Honey Rosemary Radishes Breathe EZ 150 ml Celery juice 60 ml Kale Juice 60 ml Parsley Juice 1 clove Garlic juice 30 ml Lemon Juice 1/3 Onion juice This all-green chlorophyll cocktail will have a powerful quieting effect on your respiratory system. Make sure you sit down and sip it slowly. 3
5 The Digestive/Excretory System Each cell of the body requires a constant supply of nutrients to use as the basic building blocks of the body and for the hundreds of biochemical process that are continuously going on within the body. The digestive system is the way in which the body transforms food into the energy it needs to build, repair and fuel itself. To be absorbed and used by the body, however, food substances must first be broken down into pieces small enough to cross the cellular membrane. The first step in this process is digestion. Digestion begins in the mouth. Food, once chewed, travels through the throat or larynx to the esophagus and then on to the stomach. From the stomach, it passes into the small, then large intestines where it is further digested with the aid of bile and enzymes from the pancreas and liver, and finally absorbed and replicated. Any waste materials of this process exit the body through the colon and rectum. 5 Foods to support these systems. Apples Ferments (Sauerkraut & Kombucha) Oats Flax Prunes Successful liver and gallbladder flush Here is a brief summary of the actual liver cleanse that is very direct: Purchase enough apple juice (best is freshly pressed organic) to drink 1 litre a day for six consecutive days. You may also sip on the apple juice throughout the day full strength or cut in half with water. You will also need to purchase: Epsom Salts A Couple of Grapefruits Olive oil - Extra Virgin high quality - cold pressed organic Kidney Stone Purge 1 liter Tomato Juice 1 liter Saueekraut 12 drops of Peppermint Oil Drink one in the morning and one in the night till the kidney stones have passed. As you do this you may feel nauseous, dizzy, experience diarrhea, and a slight increase in pain. All of these symptoms are how the body heals itself. 4

7 The Lymphatic/Immune System The function of the lymphsystem is to remove excess tissue fluids that do not return through the circulatory system. In addition, the lymph system is responsible for absorbing protein form this fluid and returning it to the blood. The immune system is part of our body s defense against disease. It functions by recognizing viruses and bacteria and converting that information into hormones that activate the immune process. Immunity is the ability of an individual to resist or overcome the effects of a particular disease or other harmful agent. Immunity, however, is a selective process, with one being immune to one disease and not necessarily another. 5 Foods to support these systems. Garlic Lemon/Limes Onions Berries Scallions (Spring onions) The Hulk 2 cups Orange Juice ½ cup Pecans 2 Tbsp Wheat Grass Juice 2 Tbsp Sesame Seeds 1 Tbsp Flaxseed Oil 1 cup Berries Make this drink and suck it down whenever you feel weak, fatigued or overwhelmed. 8 The Musculo/Skeletal System Muscles perform their work by relaxing & contracting. The body is made up of three different kinds of muscle tissues; skeletal, smooth, and cardiac muscle. Muscles require energy, oxygen, glucose and other nutrients, in order to work correctly. These substances are brought to the cell during circulation. The skeletal system consists of bones of many different shapes. They may be flat as in rib boned, cube shaped as in wrist or ankle bones or irregular shaped as in the bones of our spine. The majority of the skeletal bones are called long bones, because these are the type of bones that make up the arms and legs. The skeletal system serves many different functions including: Providing a framework for the body in which to support the tissues and protect the vital organs. To act as levers, working with the muscles to produce movement. To produce red blood cells within the marrow and serve as a reservoir for calcium and phosphorus. 5 Foods to support these systems. Celery Spinach Nuts Sprouts Oats Gorilla Milk 1 handful of Spinach/ Kale/Silver beet 7 Celery sticks A small handful of parsley & cilantro 2 sliced apples Juice and then mix with Almond Milk in Blender. Almond Milk 1 cup of GerminatedAlmonds 1 Tsp of Vanilla 1 Tbsp of Honey or 2-3 Dates 4 Cups of Water Blend all ingredients until smooth! 7
