6 PTSD Consultation Program Any provider treadng Veterans with PTSD can ask a quesdon or request a consultadon about anything related to PTSD. Step 1: Call or to ask a quesdon or request a consult. We just need your contact informa3on and a brief summary of your ques3on to match you with a consultant. We try to respond within 24 hours. Step 2: Discuss your quesdons. We can ouen respond via . Phone consulta3ons are up to 30 minutes in length. We work hard to find a 3me that fits your schedule. Step 3: Review recommendadons. You and the consultant will review the recommenda3ons. You retain responsibility for all aspects of your pa3ent's care. The consultant offers sugges3ons but does not provide treatment or assume responsibility. 5
7 PTSD Consultation Lecture Series The PTSD Consulta3on Program hosts a monthly webinar with topics based upon ques3ons providers bring to the PTSD Consulta3on Program. 11 PTSD Awareness in Health Care Settings PTSD Awareness is a 15-minute video that shares the stories of three Veterans being seen at VA for PTSD care. Models strategies to improve interac3ons in health care sedngs with Veterans who have PTSD and trauma histories. A Facilitator Guide is also available for those offering a training to medical staff. 10
12 Toolkits NCPTSD developed toolkits for various professionals who have contact with Veterans or those with PTSD in their line of work. Toolkits offer informa3on and networking resources. 11
13 PTSD Assessment We provide informa3on on a variety of measures assessing trauma and PTSD. We also offer online courses about best prac3ces. Most NCPTSD authored measures are available for direct download by qualified mental health professionals on our website. 12
14 PILOTS Database The Published InternaDonal Literature on TraumaDc Stress (PILOTS) Database is an electronic index to the worldwide literature on trauma and PTSD. Currently, PILOTS has close to 55,000 searchable cita3ons (e.g., ar3cles, book chapters, disserta3ons). 13

24 Mobile Apps NCPTSD has partnered with a number of organiza3ons to develop a variety of mobile apps. Apps are focused on PTSD, related health problems (e.g., insomnia, alcohol use, etc.), or general well-being. There are apps for pa3ents, providers, and for use with pa3ent-provider dyads. 23
25 PTSD Coach PTSD Coach mobile app over 140,000 downloads in 89 countries. App provides: Educa3on about PTSD and PTSD treatment A self-assessment tool Portable skills to address acute symptoms Direct connec3on to crisis support Used as stand-alone educa3on and symptom management tool, or with face-to-face care. Tools are easily accessible when they are needed most. 24

28 PTSD Coach Online PTSD Coach Online offers an expanded suite of 17 tools to help manage symptoms (e.g., problem solving, challenging cognitions). Users can choose a tool based upon a current problem or a full list of tools. Video instructions from coaches are available for each tool. 27

30 VetChange ( VetChange is a selfmanagement program designed for Veterans and active duty Servicemembers who are concerned about their drinking. This tool helps users learn skills to manage drinking and other problems that can happen after deployment (e.g., PTSD symptoms, anger, trouble sleeping). 29
31 Coaching into Care Some Veterans are reluctant to reach out for the help they are en3tled to receive. Coaching Into Care is a telephone-based program developed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to help you talk to your Veteran about gedng the treatment and support he or she needs.
