6 Surgical Experience The 2018 Senior Residents Performed: Class I surgeries in all rotations 4,000+ total resident surgeries First year residents begin assisting in surgery early in the academic year Residents begin performing cataract surgery as primary physician in the second year

The attendings are there just for you to learn, the faculty and staff are like family, and surgical experience is top. 28 I truly cherish my time at Georgetown/WHC. After moving onto fellowship, I can see how excellent the training truly is, both medically and surgically. Having exposure to so many different brilliant attendings really comes in handy down the road. However, the number one thing I miss about residency (yes! I miss residency!) is the people. The friendships I made with my fellow residents will last a lifetime, and it's something that is not replicated at many other places, if any.
