2 We are looking for Interns and HMOs who are practical and who are leaders.

In Emergency: Fantastic case mix children, trauma and everything else unlike Melbourne Interns still see patients like a real doctor Supportive environment and encouraged to see whatever you feel comfortable with and learn lots Get involved with procedures.

4 Hands on Experience We expect you to do a lot On the wards there is little competition for theatre time. Interns do admissions and you are an important member of each team In ED you are part of the team seeing patients across the spectrum of acuity and case mix.

External rotations at Echuca Regional health : General Medicine and Emergency Medicine (both non-core).

9 Leadership, Quality and Administration What else can you be part of at Bendigo? New hospital HMO Committee member / HMO Society PMCV representation/ JMO forum Unit specific projects and research Administration posts for HMOs.

10 Interns - how do I apply? Positions open Monday 2 May and close 1 June 1. Register with PMCV first 2. Then apply online (careers tab) Upload CV using standard PMCV template Cover letter and two clinical references Address key selection criteria 3. In June, the selection process will take place (there will be no interviews in 2016) 4. Priority 1 results released Monday 11 July 5. Priority 2 results released Monday 11 August

11 If you are matched to Bendigo Congratulations, you will receive an from HMO Support on the Monday morning A contract will then be posted which will include a preference form so you can indicate your non core rotations in order of preference You can also preference when to take the two weeks annual leave (must be during ED term).

14 Basic Physician Training Year 1 You will have opportunity to preference from the following: Intensive Care Medicine Emergency Medicine Oncology Palliative Care GEM/MPU (Dementia and Aged Care) Cardiology As part of the BPT1 program you will each undertake a Medical nights term which will include your 5 weeks annual leave. Again, you can preference when you wish to take this leave.

15 Critical Care Year As part of the critical care year, you will undertake four rotations. Anaesthetics (5 weeks leave will be allocated during this term) Emergency Medicine Intensive Care Medicine at Bendigo Intensive Care Medicine at SJOG (private hospital)

17 HMO Shortlisting Process Monday 27 June to Friday 8 July - Interviews and selection process takes place Applications will be reviewed by a team of clinicians and shortlisted based on the following: Cover letter & CV Clinical Performance (assessments/references) Professionalism (behavior, work absenteeism) Leadership (audits, projects, research, committees)

18 HMO Selection Process Monday 11 July First round offers with guarantee of training terms (if required) Monday 18 July - Second round offers ***Must withdraw from PMCV match for the direct offer to be valid Bendigo will not have any HMO positions in the PMCV match for 2017.
