5 1 INTRODUCTION Weight loss is fun. If you are having a nightmare with your weight loss regime, then its time to flush it down the toilet. Seriously. There are a lot of weight loss diets, programs and regimes out there that offer a quick solution to weight loss. Some promise that you will lose 10 pounds in 7 days, or 21 pounds in 21 days. We will be honest. If you think you will lose 21 pounds in 21 days then this e-book doesn t offer the solution. Don t mind if celebrities and others vouch for a diet that makes you lose even 20 pounds in 20 days. They are just there to sell that product. We are sure you have already tried a couple of those diets and detox teas and yet it has taken you no where. In this e-book we will break down and demystify weight loss so that you don t spend your time starving, taking crazy diets or doing strenuous exercises. According to calculator.net, it takes 3500 calories to burn 1 pound of fat. Now an average adult spends about 2000 calories a day this is otherwise known as the resting metabolic rate. So if you were to lose 10 pounds in 10 days it means you will burn 35,000 calories in 10 days and we estimate that a basic metabolic rate of 2000 for 10 days will give calories. 4

6 1 Introduction Burning 35,000 will mean that you have starved for 10 days and an extra 15,000 calories will still be burned, meaning on top of starving, you have to do 2 hours of high intensity training to burn the 1,500 calories a day. How humanly possible is that? So this gives you enough proof to stay away from instant weight loss schemes. Safe weight loss will start as from 2 months to 12 months. You might lose a few pounds with these diets, but what you are actually losing is water weight and residues in your stomach. We conclude that if you follow the strategies outlined in this e-book, you will lose weight safely, approximately 2 pounds (0.9kg) per week and 8 pounds(3.5 kg) in 4 weeks. This means that in 3 months you will lose 32 pounds or 14.5 kg In 6 months you will lose 65 pounds or 29 kg In 9 months you lose 97 pounds or 43.5 Kg This rate looks slow, but it is the best and one that will last for ever. Safe weight loss last while this crashing of diets may work for the first month only for you to triple your weight in such a short time. We hope you make the right decision and don t rush it because it takes time but you will see the results. 5

7 2 HOW NUTRITION PLAYS A ROLE IN YOUR WEIGHT AND HEALTH A balanced diet is key to maintaining a healthy weight for ever. You need to feed your cells with the material needed for good health. What are these materials? The materials are living foods. See you can eat all the junk you want, and stay in great shape but you will pay the price at old age. This is the difference between those who stay in shape on healthy food vs those who live on junk food. Our body cells were meant to eat living food and not dead food. Living food consist of all nuts, herbs, fruits, seeds, roots that grow. Dead food consist of all the food that has been manufactured or highly processed. The best living foods are those that are raw and have not been genetically modified or highly processed. Canned beans won t give you the same benefits as fresh beans. You can eat your way to beauty and optimal health, as well as you can eat your way to being in the hospital and eventually an untimely death. You cant live off junk food and swallow a couple of vitamins and supplements expecting to remain healthy. The best time to prevent diseases at old age is in your youth. Lets look at foods to eat and foods to avoid when losing weight. If you decide to eat for good health, then weight loss will come as the reward. It is hard to focus on weight loss without talking about proper nutrition. 6

8 2 How Nutrition plays a role in your weight & health We spoke about living foods earlier and in other to provide your cells with their real food you will need to eat the foods below. You should eat both raw and cooked foods with raw foods constituting 80% and cooked foods constituting 20%. This is because cooking destroys some nutrients due to high temperature. Foods to eat for weight loss and good health FOODS EXAMPLES Drinks and liquids Fruits Vegetables and herbs Grains Water and freshly extracted juices. It also includes smoothies, teas Fresh fruits and dried fruits All raw and fresh vegetable, herbs Sprouted grains, flax seeds, corn, millet, brown rice etc Roots, Nuts and seeds Coconut, almonds, walnuts, sun flower seeds, tahini, ogbono, pumpkin seeds etc spices Fresh &dried roots such as ginger, fresh &dried herbs, onions, garlic, white pepper etc Fats and oils sweeteners Diary and others Olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, palm kernel oil, flaxseed oil etc. Try to avoid hydrogenated oils Honey, molasses, etc Milk, almond milk, potato, yams,beans, 7

9 3 HOW TO EAT THE RIGHT WAY AND LOSE WEIGHT FOREVER The basics of eating boils down to one thing, you need to eat the right proportions with all the classes of foods and you need to make sure that you do not eat more than what you require. This doesn t mean you have to count your calories daily, unless you want to become a VS model. If you exceed your energy intake today, tomorrow you can balance it up or you can chose to do physical exercise to burn it up. Here is a sample eating plan Use the table that contains the foods to eat and make your eating plan. This will suit anyone because you will eat based on what you have and you do not need to stick to foods. 8

10 3 How to eat the right way and lose weight forever Breakfast: 80% raw and 20% cooked This includes teas, smoothies, juices and any food you have to eat. Lunch: 50% cooked and 50% raw Again this ratios are just estimates and not the blue print Supper: 80% raw and 20% cooked This includes teas, salad, etc Snacks You can eat anything you have for snacks While following the above eating plan, you have to make sure that you stay within your daily caloric intake. We recommend that you get Apps that help you estimate the calorie in your frequent foods and use it for 2 weeks. By then you will be able to judge when you are exceeding your daily requirements and if you exceed, you can do some light exercises to burn the excesses you consumed. 9
