Fitness for purpose testing completed, in line with OIE standard (Chapter Principles and methods of validation of diagnostic assays for infectious disease, section 5.2). Assay now fully validated and accredited (ISO:17025), and adopted as EU recommended test. The SOP has been disseminated to EU partners via Pathotyping RT-PCR for APMV1 A real-time PCR which discriminates between virulent and avirulent strains of APMV-1. Continued assay optimisation and validation in line with OIE standard (Chapter Principles and methods of validation of diagnostic assays for infectious disease, section 5.2). An update was provided to EU partners at the 2016 NRL meeting in Copenhagen.
