4 CLASS DESCRIPTIONS 4-EVER FIT Low to moderate levels of fitness welcome, this class combines cardio conditioning with muscle toning and stretches. AQUA EX (F) AQUA FIT (F) This is a general water fitness class that has cardio, strength, resistance, & balance movements. This class would be beneficial for both men & women of all ages. Also great for active people recovering from injuries. AQUA HI/LO (F) Aqua Hi/Lo - formerly known as Just Treading.This is a general water fitness class that has cardio, resistance, & stretch movements. We incorporate interval cardio movements such as cross country skiing and jogging as well as explosive moves such as jumping. We combine full suspension, higher intensity movement in deep water with softer ballistic moves in shallow water and finish with a full stretch to give you an all body workout. (F) Family Friendly classes - open to those 12 years and older including 7th grade initiative members. AQUA INTERVAL (F) Aqua Interval focuses on using the special properties of water to create a nonstop cardiovascular fitness program that will move your body in ways you might not be able to do on land. You ll be doing big moves such as cross country skiing and jogging as well as explosive moves such as jumping jacks and basketball jumps. The first 20 minutes is at the shallow end with non-stop interval training. The second half of class brings you to full suspension training as you move into the deep end for upper body work such as chin ups and more intervals. You ll see improvements in cardio, resistance and flexibility levels all in one class. Aqua shoes optional. ATHLETIC FLOW YOGA Experience a unique form of total body conditioning that blends classic yoga postures- focusing on improving overall strength and balance- with prolonged stretching, with special emphasis on linking movement and breath work. No previous yoga experience necessary, but be prepared for some intensity! BARRE CLASS A total body workout, using barre techniques and compound movements to strengthen the core and body. It is blended with elements of the Pilates and Yoga disciplines to sculpt a leaner, toned body. BARRE INTENSITY Barre Intensity combines attributes of Pilates and functional fitness training. It incorporates small isolated movement to fatigue the muscles, large range of motion to elevate the heart rate and sequencing that incorporates upper and lower body to make every minute count. This results in a total body workout that leaves you mentally strong and feeling accomplished. BARRE SCULPT Pilates and strength training offer a workout that focuses on the core and several small muscle groups. BARRE WITH A YOGA FOCUS Utilize the concepts of alignment in subtle details & movements, and breath while strengthening, lengthening, and firming muscles. Benefits include stronger mind/body connections, better balance, & less low-back discomfort in your daily life. BODY SCULPT A class designed to firm your muscles! Body Sculpting develops muscle strength and endurance while accentuating overall muscle tone. Various types of resistance equipment used. BODYCOMBAT BODYCOMBAT is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing, tae kwon do, tai chi and muay thai. Supported by driving music and powerful instructors, you'll strike, punch, kick and kata your way through calories to superior cardio fitness. BODYFLOW BODYBALANCE / BODYFLOW is Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates workout that builds flexibility and features relaxa on and medita on to leave you feeling centered and calm. CANDLELIGHT YOGA This alignment based yoga class incorporates meditation, breathing and movement all designed to increase flexibility and build strength. Candles and relaxing music are used to balance the mind and relieve stress. Great for all levels. CHAIR YOGA Chair yoga is an alternative to traditional yoga, which adapts yoga positions to a chair. The results are similar to traditional yoga poses but are a more gentle fitness program. DEEP WATER TABATA (F) Take high intensity to the pool.tabata training is a popular high-intensity interval training format consisting of 20 seconds of all-out, intense work followed by 10 seconds of passive recovery, totaling 4 minutes of very strenuous exercise. HIIT protocols such as Tabata are effective and promising for timecrunched exercisers whose goals are weight loss and performance enhancement. Deep-water exercise is a great nonimpact fitness experience that includes full-body movements. DELAY THE DISEASE Delay the Disease, a group exercise program for adults diagnosed with Parkinson s disease. Delay the Disease is an evidence-based fitness program designed to empower those living with Parkinson s disease by optimizing their physical function and helping delay the progression of symptoms. ENHANCE FITNESS Enhance Fitness is a physical activity program comprised of three 60-minute classes per week. The classes are designed to safely increase participants fitness levels through aerobic and strength training exercises while building a sense of community and social connections among class members. Enhance Fitness has been proven to increase participants strength, balance, flexibility, mood, general activity level, and independence when they attend on a regular basis5-8. The program is beneficial for older adults in general, but has been deemed particularly safe and effective for older adults living with arthritis and is listed as a recommended arthritis intervention by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. GENERAL CONDITIONING Great for all levels of fitness, this combination class of cardio conditioning and toning is easy to follow and leaves you feeling energized. GRIT PLYO LES MILLS GRIT Plyo is a 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) plyometric-based workout, designed to make you perform like an athlete. This workout uses a bench and combines explosive jumping exercises with agility training to increase explosiveness and to build a lean and athletic body. INDOOR CYCLING FTP TEST ** Functional Threshold Power (FTP) test A 5-minute test: end up riding as hard as you can for a given period of time and at the end using your average Power (Watts) figure to calculate your Power Zones. You can now calculate your Power Zones. The test includes a 15-minute warm-up. INTERVAL TRAINING Designed to boost your metabolism by combining short bursts of cardio with strength training. This class will use a variety of fitness tools including resistance bands, stability balls, medicine balls, gliders and free weights. INTRO TO BARRE (F) A dance inspired fitness class. Taking some of the classic principles of ballet mixing it with some strength, bringing your fitness to its next level. No prior barre experience necessary. JOY DANCE AEROBICS Moderate intensity, highly choreographed cardio routines with prescribed music and basic floor work. You can look forward to new routines every 10 weeks. PILATES Mat fitness for the mind and body. SPRINT (F)** LES MILLS SPRINT is a cycle workout built on the science of high-intensity interval training (HIIT). It s a quick and hard style of training that returns rapid results with minimal joint impact. In just 30-minutes LES MILLS SPRINT will challenge your physical and mental limits. You ll push through bursts of intensity where you work as hard as possible, and then prepare for the next effort during short periods of rest. The payoff is you will smash your fitness goals and burn calories for hours after stepping off the bike. Practiced at a very slow pace, with control of one s body as the goal, it offers many benefits to those who practice regularly. It will provide stress reduction, improve balance, enhance breathing efficiency, lower blood pressure, promote flexibility, decrease heart rate and improve blood circulation. WATER WORKS This is a Senior class similar to Aqua Fit (general water fitness class that has cardio, strength, resistance, & balance movements), but structured at a lower level. This class is a good class for clients that need a slower pace (walking) and have arthritic or surgery (i.e.. knees & hips) types of issues. Assistance is given for attendees that might require some. Qi Gong Qi Gong is a traditional Chinese mindful practice for cultivating and strengthening the body s vital energy. Also known as "Chinese Yoga" and "Meditation in Motion," Qi Gong is characterized by slow, graceful and flowing movements which gently stretch muscles, tendons and ligaments. This low impact exercise system is performed with mental focus on the movements and the breath, resulting in greater awareness of the mind-body-breath connection. Practicing Qi Gong regularly may have many positive health benefits, such as relaxing body and mind, enhancing mental focus and concentration, improving balance, coordination and body alignment and increasing energy levels. This practice promotes relaxation, health, a peaceful mind and a general sense of well-being. The slow, gentle movements of Qi Gong can be practiced by all age groups and can easily be adapted for the physically challenged.
