1 Click to view this in a browser the Pulp: October Newsletter Editor Niva Sandhu Welcome Message Contributors Armin Sethi Baghael Kaur Daven Seebarran Manmeet Panache Renson George We have just felt the first bit of winter come our way these last few days. Unfortunately, summer is officially over bringing us into the fall season. In Canada, fall is described as one of the most beautiful seasons as trees turn from summer's lush green to bright orange, red and yellow colours. Hay rides, pumpkin patches, corn mazes and apple picking are just a few of many fun fall activities the season has to offer. And let's not forget Halloween and the joys of trick or treating. Halloween has always been seen as a teeth rotting, sugar rush celebration however, this year Seva Food Bank is going to show its clients how treats can be turned into healthy snacks. On Monday October 21st Seva Food Bank will be holding a workshop on Healthy Halloween Treats in partnership with Four Corner Health Centre. A dietitian and nurse practitioner will create fun healthy Halloween themed snacks for children. Come out and learn these easy, low budget recipes for your family. Events October 5-7th Dining out for Seva Next week is Seva's "Dining out For Seva" fundraising event. Selected restaurants have offered to donate a portion of the bill made from October 5-7th back to Seva Food Bank. To check out a list of participating restaurants visit Have a happy October! October 21st and 23rd Breakfast with Santa Registration Monday October 26th Healthy Halloween Treats Food Demo Restaurants Unite to Fight Hunger
2 Restaurants Unite to Fight Hunger Healthy Living Series Workshop Each month, the Seva Food Banks provide more than 75,000 meals to the local families in Mississauga. An estimated 17% of people living in Mississauga use food banks, of these an alarming 40% are children. Dining Out for Seva brings together local restaurants to support hungry families in our communities. Between Monday October 5th, 2015 and Wednesday October 7, 2015, local participating restaurants will donate 20%-25% a percentage of their sales to Seva Food Bank. "Giving back to Seva can be as easy as dining out with your family and friends" says Daven Seebarran, Executive Director of Seva Food Bank. At its two locations across Mississauga, Seva Food Bank provides local families with safe, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food. Seva Food Bank Wolfedale and Malton provide a unique venue that brings children, families, and community members together to address the root causes and consequences of food insecurity. As well as to stimulate life long learning, and improve the health and well-being of the communities we live in. Click here for list of participating restaurants:

Our Heartiest Congratulations to client, Renson George "For over 18 months, myself and my family have been beneficiaries of this program. This was very helpful for me to run the family when we came to Canada as immigrants March When then did not have stable jobs to rely upon. I got a job July 2015 at a Telecom Company and moved last week to Edmonton with my family. We thankfully remember the wonderful support this program has given us during our initial difficult times here. I found the program coordinators and volunteers extremely courteous and ready to help. Thank you all once again. May this program continue to help those who need it for the years to come and God bless each and everyone of you" (Renson George) If you no longer wish to receive these s, please reply to this message with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line or simply click on the following link: Unsubscribe Seva Food Bank #10, 3414 Wolfeldale Road
