2 10:30-11:30am Session 2 ~ Feeding America Tackles Hunger, Food Waste and Milk! Cynthia Hubert, President, CEO Gleaners, Indianapolis, IN Kelli Walker, Director, Corporate Partnerships at Feeding America Feeding America is the largest hunger-relief organization in America. We feed 46M people annually and also serve as a food waste reduction partner. One example of a national hunger program that also positively impacts the dairy industry is The Great American Milk Drive, the first national, non-branded cause marketing campaign between the dairy industry and Feeding America. Through multi-tiered partnerships, we are addressing the dairy shortage in the food bank network; nourishing hungry families; elevating milk's unique nutritional value; and uniting the dairy industry around food insecurity. Presentation Objectives 1. Increase awareness of domestic food insecurity 2. Explore at a high level how the Feeding America network of food banks works as a food waste reduction solution 3. Attendees will be able to describe the difference between blended and seasonal single origin coffees 3. Attendees will become knowledgeable about roasting s effect on cup quality

3 Piazza Produce The tour will provide an in depth look at how the company operates, details about product sourcing, receiving, inventory control systems, rotation, offerings, and more. 1. Attendees will leave knowing the history of the company 2. Attendees will understand the food safety and sustainability standards of the company 3. Attendees will see the role Piazza Produce plays in the foodservice industry 11:45am-12:45pm Session 3 ~ Adding Crayons to Your Toolbox: Incorporating Art in Nutrition Counseling Jessica L Ward, MS, RD, CD Presenter will share how and why art may be used in nutrition counseling. Participants will have an opportunity to create their own nutrition art work and discuss this experience. 1. Participants will be able to explain when art work may be a helpful technique when working with a patient. 2. Participants will be able to use at least one type of nutrition art work in their practice. 3. 4 1:45-2:45pm Session 4 ~ The State of Health in Marion County Tedd Grain, Deputy Director of Local Initiatives Support Corporation The Indy Food Council, a collective impact organization working on food system change in Marion County, will speak to the health of Marion County and how their work is seeking to make Indianapolis a place that provides everyone access to healthy and nutritious food, enhances ecology, and creates meaningful economic and civil opportunities for all residents. 1. Understand the mission/ vision of the Indy Food Council 2. Learn more about why health is an issue in our community 3. Become knowledgeable about what the Indy Food Council is doing to move forward work to improve the health of our residents. 2:45-3:45 pm Session 5 ~ The Nuts and Bolts of the CDC's National DPP Susie King, Diabetes Prevention Coordinator, IN State Dept of Health Lisa Schnepp, RD, CDE, Clinical Nutrition Svs Mgr, Major Health Partners Susie King will provide an overview of the CDCs national initiative, The National Diabetes Prevention Program. Discussion will include the evidenced-based research as well as an explanation of the component parts of the program (participant eligibility/qualifications, CDCs requirements and goals, cost of program implementation, and current reimbursement). Lifestyle Coach Lisa Schnepp, RD, CDE, will share her experience implementing this program from a local hospital's perspective.
