Absent: Mark Burgess (Web Officer) Zoe Collyer-Strutt (Awards Officer) Emily Hopkins (Candidate Support Officer) Padma Inala (Special Interest Group Liaison Officer) Daniel Livesey (Candidate Support Officer) Lisa McLaren (Newsletter Editor) Helen Monagle (New Professionals Officer) Christine Tate (Student Rep) Minutes: Catherine Chorley (Secretary) Apologies for absence: Apologies were received from Zoe Collyer-Strutt, Emily Hopkins, Daniel Livesey, Lisa McLaren and Christine Tate. 1) Welcome to all JG welcomed all the Regional Network Members and introduced the Regional Network Committee. 2) Minutes of the 2015 AGM - 1 -
2 Accuracy of previous AGM minutes proposed by MC and seconded by AR. None. 3) Matters arising from the minutes 4) Chair s Annual Report JG gave a brief overview of the previous year s proceedings and membership statistics, including the following: a. Membership Currently 891 in the North West. b. Events A number of events have taken place over the last year. Highlights include: Making Your Message Stick (run in association with ARLG): a hands-on guide to creating presentations, facilitated by Ned Potter; Careers days at MMU attended by Committee members; A session on cataloguing; Professional Registration events: o Mentor training; o Mentor exchange of experience; o Portfolio Building workshop; o Three practical revalidation sessions in Salford, Haydock and Manchester. Events scheduled for year ahead (further details to follow): A visit to Liverpool Maritime Museum and Archive; A visit to Manchester Law Library. c. Twitter 797 followers to date. Accuracy of Chair s Report for 2015 proposed by LF and seconded by Geraldine Kane. 5) Financial Report 2015 DF discussed the accounts. Notable points included:- Accounts audited and passed by CILIP on 21 st January
3 Accounts balances remain in credit: as of 31 st December 2015 current account held and deposit account held 3, Plan to draw on some of the deposited funds again for activities in This is to keep attendance fees for events low, and to provide bursary support for members professional registration and CPD. Full financial breakdown provided in Appendix A. Accuracy of Financial Report for 2015 proposed by David Stewart and seconded by AR. 6) The CILIP North West Regional Network Committee for 2016 a.
