3 NOTICE THE ADMINISTRATOR S CORNER NEWS FROM THE GOVERNOR S DESK As we come to the close of another year, I would like to take this time to thank each and every one of our members for all of their support throughout the year. Also I would like to thank a great board of officers who have stepped up and helped to make our Lodge one of the best places around. It takes a lot of hard work and time which is very much appreciated by all. Looking back on last year we accomplished quite a bit here at the Lodge. We renovated the social quarters and enlarged the dance floor. The pool area was enhanced by the picnic tables donated by our members. The Moose Riders was added to our chapter along with the Women of The Moose. We just continue to grow. A huge thank you to everyone that made the special benefit for the Tim Fodor family a huge success. My family appreciates all the support, donations and everything each and every one of you did for us. This is what a family is all about. Looking forward to a great and prosperous New Year. Fraternally yours, Gary Cogar Governor With a new year comes a plan for changes. We do have plans to drive for more new members and also to keep the ones we do have now. Keeping the membership busy and involved is always our main concern. We need input from our membership as far as events in the Lodge as well as at our pool. In our next newsletter we will give a date and time for the first pool committee meeting. We need to get started early. As far as inside the Lodge we need ideas and volunteers for maintenance and upkeep. I would like to encourage all members in good standing to attend our meetings, we need your help, and we need your ideas and support. No matter what your interests are, hopefully we can get it done. Looking forward to a very good year here at Moose 386. Happy New Year Everett (Willie) Williams Administrator This is just a reminder that in order to enter the Lodge you must have your Moose ID card with you at all times. Also, all guests must sign in upon entering. This is going to be strongly enforced so please be ready to show your ID card upon request. This is a state ABC law and Moose International rule. As always, we want you and your guests to be welcome at the Lodge but these rules have to be enforced. Thank you for helping us with this.

5 Birthdays New Members NOTICES Because of the New Year Holiday, the Loyal Order of Moose meeting normally scheduled for the FIRST Wednesday of the month will instead be held on the SECOND Wednesday, January 8. The meeting scheduled for the THIRD Wednesday will take place on the FOURTH Wednesday, January 22. Please plan to participate in our annual RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE on Friday, January 3. The Bloodmobile will be in the LOWER parking lot from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM. There s a sign-up sheet in the Social Quarters to reserve a time, or you can just come by to donate on a first-come, first-serve basis. See the insert for more information. The Lodge would like to thank STEVE THOMAS FARMS for the use of their truck and trailer for the transport of Christmas trees. Thanks also to OLD SOUTH DEISEL for the use of their big lights. 6 In Our Thoughts & Prayers Moose Riders MOOSE RIDERS #386 Ready or not Christmas is here and gone. The Sanford Moose Riders 386 hope everyone had a Merry Christmas wish you all and a Happy New Year!!!! David and Jan Maloof would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during Jan's hospital stay. Jan is recovering well and hopes to be home before Christmas. The Broadway Christmas Parade was rainy and cold, but I want to thank all the Moose Riders for making it fun anyway. Hopefully next year it won't rain and we can put on a real show. The Women of the Moose, The Loyal Order of the Moose and with the Moose Riders did Operation Shoe Box. We want to thank The Women of the Moose for doing the bulk of the work. The shoes boxes were filled with all sorts of items and sent overseas to the soldiers who couldn't be with their families during the Christmas Holidays. I want to give a special thanks to Pete Holder who not only organized this event also sent the shoe boxes to SSgt Justin Wayne Douglas, my son, who then passed them out amongst his team. You can see pictures on the Sanford Moose Facebook page. Way to go Pete, you made a lot of young men and women very happy. Thank you to everyone involved in Operation Shoe Box. We moved our meetings to the third Tuesday of the month. The next meeting will be January 21st at 7 pm. This time should be better for members because of the weekly drawing. The Cooler of Cheer did well and our very own Carl Gohier won it Saturday night at The Moose Annual Christmas Party. Thank you to all that bought tickets to help support and make The Moose Riders successful. We cannot thank fellow member Ralph Holt enough for the great job he did of selling Cooler of Cheer tickets. Great job, Ralph! We try to keep up with those who are sick or have other problems, so if there is anyone that you like to add to our prayer list at any time please let any board member know. If you have a need that your Lodge can help with like transportation to the hospital, help around your home that you can t physically do or a financial need, please let us know and we will try to help.
