2 Greetings from the Governor Hello to our fine members! This is a busy time of the year for Bellefontaine Moose members. It seems like every week there is a big event. Upcoming Bellefontaine events include: Moose Riders Bikearama July 21, Miami Valley #103 District Moose Legion Picnic July 28, Biggest event of the year, our Summerfest, August 4, District #3 meeting September 3. Bellefontaine Moose members are proud to do all this to help our Lodge, our community, and Moose Charities. Thank you to all who have helped and are helping. Don t forget the people who clean, mow, order, carry stuff in, restock, setup, cook, repair, install, update, and many other things taken for granted. Come in and help, you will be appreciated! Thanks to all of you for making the Bellefontaine Moose Lodge the place to go for fun, comradeship, and pride for all we do for others. We are indeed the friendliest place in town. Now it s time to build on that success and push above those levels and recognize those individuals and organizations who share our value of doing good for others. Each lodge and chapter is encouraged to develop and embark on its Page 2 own Mission that will help grow the Fraternity and support our overall Moose Mission of assisting children, seniors, and our communities. What will YOUR Mission be this year? Sign 5 members: Funds will be donated towards the purchase of a farm truck for Mooseheart Campus. 3 Women of the Moose Spotlight Hello co-workers: Our Bellefontaine Women of the Moose are off to a great start this summer with charitable support and events. In June we had out dessert auction and raised over $1600 to support the Summerfest event. Please see the pictures below of all the desserts. Thank you to all who participated and to all who brought desserts to the auction. Please come out and support the biggest event for men or women, our Summerfest (see page one). This event brings in people from all over and supports Moose Charities. A monthly reminder, we must keep out membership going, so keep asking friends, neighbors and family members to join the Women of the Moose. We have set our goals high. For flag day we donated $100 to a local nursing home along with five plaques for all veterans. As noted on page one, we have received a great honor on our community blood drive. It is great to be a top community donator. There are several things going on which will be covered in the next newsletter. There are For whom the bell tolls, in sickness and distress! several recognitions from the International Convention which will also be covered. There are great things ahead for Bellefontaine Moose men and women. 4 Moose Riders Event Moose Legion Bus Trip The Bike-A-Rama is Saturday July 21 at Bellefontaine Moose Lodge at 1:00. Lunch and fun activities with the music of two bands will follow. Greetings Moose Legionnaires! First I want to thank everyone who helped out with our Moose Legion Luau Party! Everyone had a great time. Congratulations to the winner of our Grill Raffle, Steve Stewart. Thank you to everyone who purchased ticket on this raffle. We were able to raise over $250 that will go toward supporting our Moose Charities! Thanks to the 11 Moose Legionnaires that were able to participate in our Bus Trip last month. We had a great day visiting lodges and making new friends. Everyone is already looking forward to our next trip! See pg. 4. Our next meeting will be held on July 12:00pm for any Moose Legionnaire that would like to attend On a sad note, I d like to recognize the passing of fellow Moose Legionnaire Richard Lohr. Richard was serving as the Sergeantat-Arms on our Moose Legion Committee, and a valued contributor to all of our charitable activities. He will be missed for sure, and we wish his family the best during their time of mourning. I d like to welcome our lodge s newest Moose Legionnaire, Larry Peterson. Larry currently serves as the Outer Guard for our Lodge and has taken the next step in his Moose journey by elevating to the higher degree of Moose Legionnaire. Welcome Larry! Finally, I hope to see each and every one of you and your families at the Miami Valley #103 Moose Legion Family Picnic that will be held at our lodge on July 28th at 12. The Moose Legion membership cost is only 4 cents a day ($1.33 a month/$15 a year). An immediate benefit is a Thursday Higher Degree savings on beverages. A Moose Legion Directive: do some good thing for someone each day!
