When people give to the offering, 100 percent of their gift will be transformed into missionary salaries and ministry supplies. Those missionaries and supplies will help others hear the message of Christ and respond in faith to His offer of salvation. Time and again our missionaries relate how the offering is their lifeblood. They know that behind each penny given, there is a Southern Baptist who believes in what they do and are affirming the need to equip them to share the gospel with those who need a Savior. Contact Judy Caldwell at BEREAVEMENT AND BENEVOLENCE FUNDS Please note that when contributing to the Benevolence and Bereavement funds they are two separate funds. Bereavement funds are for funeral related expenses such as receptions. Benevolence is for financial assistance to those in need as identified by our Benevolence committee, chaired by Judy Kitts. Please be clear on which fund you identify when making donations. Thank you. LAWN TEAM SIGN-UP HAS STARTED The Properties Committee is seeking volunteers to do yard maintenance for We need a minimum of 5 teams consisting of 5 to 6 volunteers. Each team will perform yard maintenance on a five week rotation. Sign-up sheets are available at the front desk. HOSPITAL VISITATION TEAM VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Volunteers needed to serve on our Hospital Visitation Team. 3 CHILDREN S MINISTRY Hey Kids, are you ready to have some fun?? We have made plans for most of the year and don t want you to miss a single event. Here are our plans for now: 29 March- Easter Egg Hunt at church. We will start at 11:45 am. Meet us in the Children s Hallway and hopefully the weather will be beautiful and we will hunt outside. The Kitchen Committee is also sponsoring a luncheon in the Fellowship Hall right after church. So, after the Easter Egg Hunt, everyone is invited to join the lunch. Watch for information regarding the Luncheon and Easter Egg Hunt in the bulletins and Children s check-in desk. We will NEED: WRAPPED PEANUT BUTTER & NUT FREE CANDY. A drop off candy plastic tub will be in the front entrance area starting the 15th and the 22nd of March. Anyone wanting to invite a friend /neighbor for the Easter Egg Hunt, be sure to tell them it STARTS AT 11:45, right after church and we will probably be done in less than a half hour. April We are planning for a group to assist the residents by playing BINGO at Cedar Manor and some kids will to room to room singing to those unable to play Bingo. A new Activity Director just started today so we are still in the scheduling stage. Also, we are working on arranging a day to visit a few shut-ins during April as well. Exact details will be in the bulletin and April Newsletter. May 1 & 2 Overnight Camp Out at First Landing State Park, Virginia Beach. Yep, it is that time again to break out the tents, sleeping bags and flashlights for an evening of food, fun, fellowship like we did last year. Due to the gates supposedly closing by 10pm, we will be arriving by 4:30pm and will plan to start cooking at 6pm. Come when you can, and we can stoke the fires and cook some grub for you all. But, don t be late for the s mores, as they might go faster than you think. We have 3 campsites and can fit 3 tents per campsite. We will have signups in April. Mark your calendar now, and watch for more details in the April Newsletter. That s all for now, more dates to follow next month. 4 Women s Ministry Union (W.M.U.) The WMU will be collecting items for the Working Women s Wardrobe: Women s clothing (career oriented) shoes, coats, purses, and jewelry. Each woman will receive 5 complete outfits, 2 pair of shoes, 2 purses and jewelry. All sizes accepted. (Large sizes in demand.) We will be accepting these items through March 29. We will have a bin in the parking lot entrance. We are also collecting items for the Baby Boutique: Children s clothing from infant through 4T. Also, baby supplies example: washing cloths, lotion, shampoo, towels, diapers. We will also collect these items through March 29. We will have a bin in the parking lot entrance. Both of these important Mission endeavors will benefit women and children in our area. They are supported through The Bridge Network of Churches and local churches. SANCTUARY FLOWERS The 2015 Flowers Calendar is now posted on the commons area bulletin board. Please take a moment and sign up. Sign-up/ information cards are located in the sanctuary pews. Please complete the information card and place in the offering plate. A notice regarding memorials, celebrations or other notable events will appear in the bulletin each Sunday.
