The 2007 film Freedom Writers is based on her story. Erin BELIEVED in the power of love that led to her belief in her students and in herself.

5 12:00 to 2:00 Outstanding Community Visits 2:00 to 2:30 Visits Debriefing There is nothing better than seeing outstanding community organizations who are finding solutions to a host of development issues. Our group will visit: The Orange Wood Foundation is one of the leading providers of services to current and former foster youth. Their mission is to prepare foster and community youth to reach their greatest potential. The Friendly Center is a comprehensive family and community resource center dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults by helping them move towards self-sufficiency through immediate aid and other educational and life skills programs. Families Forward is a non-profit organization committed to helping Orange County families who are homeless or at risk for homelessness. Orange County Rescue Mission is a Christian organization that provides counseling, education, job training, shelter, food, clothing, heath card and independent living for those who need assistance. Taller San Jose provides orange County s most disadvantaged youth the life skills and job training they need to achieve enduring personal and professional success. 2:30 to 3:30 Telling the Story A Community of Hope Audra Wilford, Maxlove Project The Maxlove Project is a dynamic, volunteer-driven, grassroots team of parents, doctors, nurses, researchers, chefs, farmers, educators and community activists who are dedicated to helping childhood cancer families beat the odds. 3:30 to 3:45 BREAK 3:45 to 4:00 Our DE Story 4:00 to 4:30 Program Closing and Reflections
