2 Welcome to the Field of Dreams It s time to start building our field for membership, so we can catch new team members!

4 Those before us have built the field. We must keep the team full and strong to ensure our future. How are we going to accomplish this?

6 Continuous Members Start collecting your continuous members dues as soon as you get home Encourage members to pay online through MALTA Dues reminders, check out MALTA to make the work easier

7 Continuous Members Have a dues notice party to stuff envelopes Challenge Auxiliary members to help get other continuous members to pay dues early (maybe hold an early bird dinner) Only charge a per-diem + 1 year dues for new members that join in April, May and June so your not asking for another years dues two months after they join.

8 MALTA Members Control your own profile! Update your own contact information! Pay your dues online! Request a new membership card, or pull it up on your smart phone or tablet!

9 Auxiliary Officer VFW Auxiliary MALTA Access your Auxiliary membership list! Produce mailing labels! Identify who or hasn t paid their dues! Update your Auxiliary s information!

10 MALTA Attend as many MALTA trainings as you can Watch MALTA training videos available on the Online Auxiliary Academy accessible behind Member Login

11 Catch 5 Pin Pin for recruiting five (5) or more Auxiliary members. They can be new or rejoined. Auxiliary and VFW members are eligible for the pin. Must join/rejoin between July 1, 2017 and April 30, Only one (1) pin per individual.

12 National Membership Achievement Award (NMA) This award is for recruiting 20 new members! Rejoins do not count for this award. The Department with the most NMAs for was Michigan with 41! Which Department will have the most our year?

13 Just One It starts with Just One from each of us, and motivating members in our Department to start with Just One.

14 How Do We Accomplish These Goals? Host a membership drive in conjunction with events at your Post or in the community ( Buddy Poppy drives, patriotic holidays, etc.) Ask each Post member if their family members are members of the Auxiliary (Remember there are up to 12 relations that can join under one Post member!) Develop a relationship with your local high school JROTC, the local recruiter(s) for each branch of service and other civic organizations.

15 How Do We Accomplish These Goals? Challenge your Membership Chair and the Recruiter Trainer to do a joint membership drive in conjunction with a Department meeting Find local craft fairs, church bazaars, street parties, youth sporting events, etc. and ask to put up a table with membership materials Just One promotion/challenge with cards

16 Sometimes new members feel like they are all alone in the middle of a corn field, with nothing or anyone around them

17 Member Engagement Guide For Auxiliary Officers Resources and best practices to assist local Auxiliary Officers in welcoming new members For New Members New Member Packet - Orientation materials to give to new Auxiliary members.

18 The goal is to help the Auxiliaries from grass roots (or corn stalk roots) through the District and Department levels.
