1 Information for entrants Aboriginal art competition entry form Smoking is a big problem in our community. To help address smoking, a competition is running for the Aboriginal community to create an artwork which highlights the impact of smoking and ways that smoking can be addressed by the community. Artworks must be related to the issue of smoking in the Aboriginal community, and could show: How badly smoking affects our community The benefits of a smoke free environment How we can address smoking in our community How quitting smoking can be supported by the community Artworks could be focussed on one of the following groups of people: Our whole family Pregnant women Aboriginal youth Our Elders As part of the competition, local organisations are hosting art workshops led by Aboriginal artist Kylie Cassidy. Artworks do not need to be produced at a workshop to be entered in the competition. Entries to the art competition could be created in any type of format drawing, cartoon, photography, video, music, dance etc. Judging: the Aboriginal community is invited to vote on their favourite artworks. Voting is open from 18th June until 12th July. Vote at: Exhibition: artworks will be displayed at 5 Lands Walk (23 June) and NAIDOC Day events (July)

Artworks will be available for collection from Central Coast Health Promotion Service on 16 July. If your artwork has been produced in an electronic or digital format, please upload it to Dropbox, Google Drive or YouTube, and the link to Luke.Giles@health.nsw.gov.au You must complete the following entry form and submit it with your artwork, or it to Luke.Giles@health.nsw.gov.au by 15 June.

Yes No Conditions of entry: a) Entries to the competition are limited to one per person. b) Central Coast Local Health District is not responsible for any damage caused to artworks. c) Where possible, all artworks will be exhibited. In the event of space limitations then the Health Promotion Service will determine which artworks to display. d) Judging will be conducted by the community and project organisers. All decisions are final. e) All artists must complete an entry form to be eligible for the competition. f) The art competition is open to all members of the Aboriginal community. g) Entrants must reside on the Central Coast.

6 h) Physical artworks must be no more than 1m x 1m in size. Digital artworks must be no more than 5 minutes in duration. i) The artworks entered must be the artist s own work and not breach any intellectual property of any other artist j) The entrant acknowledges and agrees that any artworks submitted may be used by the Central Coast Local Health District free of charge to promote its activities associated with this competition.
