One Life at a Time. Our Vision: Every child deserves a strong family. Established, proven, and respected, Olive Crest serves nearly 2,000 children and families each day throughout California, Nevada, and the Pacific Northwest. Organization s history, goals and accomplishments Board of Directors This year Olive Crest is commemorating 40 Years of Family. In 1973, Dr. Donald and Lois Verleur took in four teenage girls, and opened their first home for children in Orange County, California. Drawing from the olive tree in the front yard and the idea of a family crest, Olive Crest, a name symbolizing peaceful family was born. Today, Olive Crest has grown to become a leader in the prevention and treatment of child abuse. Olive Crest has had a substantial presence in Southern Nevada since Our office locations in Las Vegas and North Las Vegas provide a broad spectrum of care for children and families throughout Clark County. Through outreach, education and individualized treatment services, Olive Crest promotes the safety and wellness of children and families to more than 4,000 community residents each year. Emergency flex funds are available for utilities, food, clothing, etc. Services are provided at established outreach sites in an effort to make services more accessible. Project Independence Project Independence is a youth centered system of care that provides foster youth who are soon to emancipate from the child welfare system and former foster youth ages with workshops and

3 services that provide assistance with education, employment, housing, healthcare, financial literacy, and life skills. Strong Families Strong Families provides at-risk families with in-home services from a specialized support team. This program provides innovative treatment services to support families in staying together. Services include parent education, counseling, case management, family support, and assistance with resources. DREAMR (Determined, Responsible, Empowered Adolescents Mentoring Relationships) DREAMR was developed in an effort to reduce the pregnancy/parenting rates in foster youth ages and build relationship capacity for youth already pregnant or parenting. We provide in-home support, parent training, independent living skills and case management. Mental Health Mental Health provides high quality and effective care that will lead children and families to healing, wholeness, and stronger relationships. Services include crisis intervention, therapy, psychiatric assessments and medication management. Differential Response This home-based program is implemented when there are allegations of abuse that do not meet criteria for a formal CPS investigation, but do warrant some type of intervention. We work with families who could be at risk for more serious abuse situations in a preventative role. To publicly recognize and express appreciation to The Caesars Foundation for its support of Olive Crest, we will implement an awareness plan that will include the following: Marketing/Branding Opportunities NEWSLETTERS Feature article in Olive Crest s print newsletter, Strong Families, Safe Kids (Nevada edition): circa. 1,268 mailed plus personal distribution Feature article in Olive Crest s monthly e-newsletters (Nevada and National editions): circa 897 and 5,166 respectively WEB Listing on Olive Crest web site s Supporters page: Over 10,000 unique visitors monthly

4 SOCIAL MEDIA Announcement with photos and links on Olive Crest National and Nevada Facebook pages: 754 and 5,393 fans respectively Announcement on Olive Crest s LinkedIn profile: 451 followers Posting of video footage (specially created, if necessary) on Olive Crest s YouTube channel: Over 8,400 views ADVERTISING A full-color one-quarter page advertisement in the Las Vegas Business Press will recognize and thank The Caesars Foundation for its support of Olive Crest (Circa: 10,000 weekly) PUBLIC RELATIONS A press release, with photograph(s), will be created and released to local media The release and photo(s) will also be distributed via PR Web, an online wire service that sends news to major search engines like Google, Yahoo! News, and Bing, as well as 30,000+ journalists and bloggers, and 250,000+ PRWeb opt-in news subscribers. The release is also hosted on PRWeb.com, which receives 1.5 million visitors each month. PHOTO OPPORTUNITY To enhance each of these items, Olive Crest will facilitate a photo opportunity to capture images, and possibly video, of the grant presentation. These photos will feature Caesars executives and branding along with Olive Crest employees, and possibly children and/or families served by Olive Crest. Assets obtained will be utilized in newsletters, advertising, social media, press releases, etc. Olive Crest engages local community members to participate in making a difference in the life of an abused child through a variety of volunteer opportunities. Olive Crest currently has 65 active volunteers in Las Vegas participating in the following activities: Volunteer Opportunities Mentors: A quality mentor relationship improves a youth's self esteem, provides valuable experiences for youth to learn how to build lasting relationships and shows a youth that there is someone who genuinely cares and wants to see them succeed in life. Tutors: Work alongside a student to assist them in improving their academic performance and achieve their educational goals.

Office Volunteer: This opportunity is involves clerical work, filing and any general office assistance. Special Events Volunteer: This entails working on any of the special events or fund raising events we coordinate. Activity Sponsor: Experiencing an outing is a great way for our kids to feel "normal" and be introduced to an activity that they have never experienced before.
