Fall Semester Kick Off Start the semester with a bang! Cheer on Lehman Athletics, meet clubs, offices and departments that will support you at Lehman, mingle with new and returning students, and enjoy free pizza! Go Lehman! The National Child ID program The National Child Identification Program is a community service initiative dedicated to providing parents and guardians with a tool they can use to help protect their children. The ID Kit allows parents to collect specific information by easily recording the physical characteristics and fingerprints of their children on identification cards that are then kept at home by the parent or guardian. If ever needed, this ID Kit will give authorities vital information to assist their efforts to locate a missing child. Volunteers are needed to help out during the Masonic Child ID Program to direct children during the process by helping the parents fill out the forms and controlling the flow of traffic of the kids. If you do have any Spanish speaking students it would be a great help also. Community Engagement Service Fair Meet with local organizations to learn about volunteer opportunities! Teach other students how to perform a self-breast exam (BSE) and testicular selfexam (TSE). Students will be trained by peer health educators on how to talk to other students about breast/testicular cancer symptoms, how to prevent breast cancer and how to perform a BSE & TSE. Their dedicated team works in collaboration with the New York City Department of Homeless Services to return families and single adults to permanent housing.

18 A Journey Through L.I.F.E. - Celebrating 10 years of Lehman L.I.F.E. (Leaders Involved For Everyone) Join us for a commemorative gallery and reception featuring photos and artifacts from the past 10 years of global community service-learning. In addition, there will be a one night only flash sale where participants can purchase their 3rd Annual Global Citizenship Gala tickets for $125 (regularly $150) during the event. The main goal is to increase awareness of issues affecting humanity from our campus to the global society. Domestic Service Trip Pine Ridge, South Dakota RE-MEMBER: Pine Ridge Indian Reservation Lehman students will be traveling to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation during Spring Break to volunteer with the organization Re-Member. Re-Member is a non-profit organization which aims at improving the quality of reservation life for the Oglala Lakota people through relationship building, shared resources and volunteer service. International Service Trip St. Andrews, Jamaica Jamaica Volunteer Programs Lehman students will be traveling to St. Andrews, Jamaica during Spring Break to volunteer with the organization Jamaica Volunteer Programs. Jamaica Volunteer Programs is a Jamaican owned and operated organization that looks for specific needs where volunteers can have a lasting and positive impact on the local people. Students will be working with children at orphanages supporting the repairing of schools and orphanages. Take Back the Night Lehman College will host its annual Take Back the Night event, honoring those impacted by Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence.

Lehman L.I.F.E. supports service opportunities for students by creating an awareness of needs in communities around the world and fostering action through volunteer work. Our main goal is to increase consciousness of issues affecting humanity, from our campus to the global society.
