In experiment-1 (6 weeks), three different dietry tretments; Control diet without proiotics (Commercil feed with 42% Protein [P]) nd two formulted diets with proiotics Biosyn-AQ nd vrying levels of protein; Diet-1 (proiotics 4 g/kg of feed nd 35% P) nd Diet 2 (proiotics 4 g/kg of feed nd 33% P) were used in triplicte groups. Post lrve (PL) were stocked t rte of 40PL/tnk (60 cm 30 cm 30cm). Feeding ws done t 10% of ody weight per dy nd st prwns were weighed every 2 weeks. At the end of the 1 experiment, Growth prmeters; finl lengths nd weights, length gin ( cm), weight gin ( g) nd specific growth rte ( ) of prwns showed no significnt difference etween tretments. Significntly lower feed conversion rtios (0.96±0.16, 1.18±0.18) nd higher survivl (80.00±10.89 %, 62.50±12.5 %) were recorded for control diet nd diet-1 respectively. Feed costs for diet 1 nd 2 were lower compred to the price of control diet. However, PL fed on diet-1 performed on pr with PL fed on protein rich control diet in terms of etter growth performnce nd nd selected s sl diet for 2 experiment. In experiment-2 (4 weeks), Bsl diet (35% crude protein) ws prepred y the supplementtion of proiotics t 3 different concentrtions ie; 1%, 2% nd 3% of the diet. Prwns were stocked t rte of 20 juveniles / tnk. Significntly higher length gin, weight gin, specific growth rte nd survivl rte were recorded for prwns fed on diets supplemented with 2% nd 3% proiotics thn those fed on diet supplemented with 1% proiotics fed group. On the other hnd, diet with 2% proiotics performed sttisticlly in pr with diet with 3% proiotics. Therefore, 2% of proiotics ws selected s n idel concentrtion in terms of low cost nd etter growth performnce. From oth experiments, it cn e concluded tht diet-1 formultion supplemented with 2% proiotics Biosyn-AQ leds to etter growth performnce of prwns nd cn e suggested for promoting sustinle culture of M.rosenergii under Sri Lnkn conditions. Furthermore, men vlues recorded for growth prmeters such s length gin, weight gin nd SGR were significntly higher for 2% nd 3% proiotic supplemented diets thn 1% proiotic supplemented diet fed group juveniles. Hence, the effects of different proiotic inclusion levels were not significnt on ll growth prmeters nd survivl etween 2% nd 3% proiotic fed groups (Tle 5). DISCUSSION Wter Qulity: Growth nd survivl in prwn lrve re directly relted to mintennce of good wter qulity, food qulity nd quntity nd vilility of the prwns of cquire the food [14-16]. Temperture, turidity, ph nd dissolved oxygen recorded in the present study were found to e within the cceptle limits for M.rosenergii reported in vrious litertures [12, 17-20]. This might e ttriuted to the supplementtion of proiotics with the experimentl diets of the current study [21]. Experimentl Diets nd Proiotics: In view of the high cost of cysts nd their occsionl scrcity, too much dependence on Artemi (mjor live feed) is mjor constrint in the expnsion of M. rosenergii htcheries 20
