Bike mode increased from 4,855 to 6,830 or from 2.6 to 3.4 percent of the total mode share. Walking mode increased 7,200 to 8,742 or from 3.8 to 4.3 percent of total mode share. Public transit, bike and walk mode trips combined increased by 6,716 from 16,415 to 23,131 or 40.9 percent. 41

Santa Barbara County (SM) commuting into San Luis Obispo County is increasing, while Santa Barbara County commuting into Ventura County is dropping off. North County commuting into the South Coast is significant, especially from the City of Lompoc. Commuting from South Coast communities is, for the most part, within the South Coast. 49
