Encouraged for anyone who is concerned with nutrition and well-being. Caregiving and End of Life Issues Tues., May 4, 11, 18 and 25, 7-8:30 p.m. Speakers: John Reeves, Paramedic, Wash. Co./JC EMS and Gary Bayne, APRN, JCMC A series of four classes, attend one or all. This session will focus on making your wishes known, Living Wills and Advance Directives. Plus, The Bedroom Scene EMS to the rescue. Heart & Sole Wed., May 5, 8:30-9:30 a.m. Eyeglass Tune Up! Drop by the HRC for a free eyeglass adjustment, ultrasonic cleaning, or nosepad replacement (courtesy of LensCrafters.) No appointment needed.

Results will be mailed to you. $5 fee. Diabetes Self Management Series Thurs., May 6, 13, and 20, 1:30-4:30 p.m. or Tues., May 18 and 25, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Speakers: Norma Curtis, RN, CDE, JCMC and Jennifer Persinger, RD, CDE, JCMC These series of classes are designed to put You in control of your diabetes. Each class builds on the preceding class. Basics of diabetes and complications, carbohydrate counting, meal planning, monitoring blood sugar, medications and much more. $35/series includes one support person and follow-up session. Learn ways to decrease your risk of developing diabetes. * Heartsaver CPR Tues. and Wed., May 11 & 12, 5-8:45 p.m. This 2 night class covers the life-saving techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and relief of airway obstruction for the adult, child and infant. Pre-registration and $30 fee for materials requested in advance. Stress Management 102 Tues., May 11, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Speaker: Maggie Cooper, Certified Advanced Yoga Instructor A follow up session to Stress Management 101: now putting principles into practice helpful hints and guidelines for de-stressing your life. 4 A bone density screening will be offered for those 40 years of age and older who are currently undiagnosed for Osteoporosis. In conjunction with ETSU Osteoporosis Center. Appointment absolutely required by calling CPR Healthcare Provider Recertification Sat., May 15, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Obtain your recertification in Healthcare Provider CPR.
