PERFIL DEL PROYECTO POV Female aims to promote the work of five young female photographers based in five different cities worldwide, through the production of monographic publications in an edition of 100 copies only. The aim is to promote young talent from one city in the world and help young female artists to be seen to a wide audience in their own country and abroad. By doing so, we re promoting a country, a city and its artists working and living in it. Fecha de realización del proyecto: 5 10 May JUSTIFICACION DEL PROYECTO Tres principales razones para realizar el proyecto dentro de la estrategia de mercadeo internacional de Bogotá: (Max 300 palabras por cada uno) POV Female Bogota is promoting young female photographers working in Bogota to a worldwide audience. It will reinforce the city's cultural aspect and reveal the presence of strong minded and talented young female living and working in the city and inspire local artists as well as change views on the country through the positive aspect of this project. It will promote to a new international audience, the city of Bogota and Colombia as a country throug its artictic life and citizen that are using photography to express themselves. The aim is to show Colombia's diversity and richness through the eyes of young female photographers. 2 We will publish the first book of five young female photographers. We will promote the city of Bogota and Colombia to force a new audience to look at the country in another way and view its artistic life and people who's work is honest and strong. We'd like to create links between Colombia and other countries worldwide. We'd like to do something sustainable and work on links in the future, we'd be more than happy to discuss this when we're in the country with local administrations and cultural chiefs. DESCRIPCIÓN DEL PROYECTO It is a photogtaphy and publishing project with the aim to help promoting the youth of the city of Bogota. We chose Bogota, because when looking at South America from europe, the news, the world always talk about Brazil, Argentina and other countries and I wanted to avoid following people and chose a country that has a great cultural acitivity but is not shown enough in the news, by giving it a strong and positive vision Describir la trayectoria de los organizadores. Damien Poulain is a graphic designer, illustrator and creative director working across a wide range of fields, with a specific focus on art, fashion and music. He also publishes photography books under the name oodee. He has gained international recognition commercially and artistically with work for clients including Dazed and Confused, KesselsKramer, Adidas and Uniqlo, solo shows in London at Kemistry Gallery and KK Outlet, in Tokyo at Calm and Punk Gallery and Claska, and group shows at the Museum of Graphic Design in Breda, Holland. He is regularly featured in international publications. Having worked in France, Spain, Germany and Italy, Damien chose London as the place to develop his ideas and has been based there since In 2011, Damien founded oodee, a publishing house focusing on contemporary photography. Including the sold out London and Tokyo editions of oodees inaugural POV Female series, he also produces books for Pieter Hugo, Charlotte Dumas and Viviane Sassen. DIMENSIÓN INTERNACIONAL El proyecto forma parte de una política de internacionalización del sector al que pertenece y por qué? Damien is in the jury of the International Photography Awards 2014 (Los Angeles) and Hyeres Fashion and Photography Festival (France) The project has started in 2011 in London, we're chosing 5 young female photophers that we publish and promote. Photographers such as Karen Pauline Biswell or Guadalupe ruiz have a reputation in their field already but the aim of the project is to discover new talents and show them to the world. We'll use our social media accounts such as twitter, facebook, instagram and we have the confirmation by two magazines for articles (Vogue UK and Riposte UK), more magazines, blogs and newspaper will talk about the project. The impact is huge as it encourages young women to carry on in their field and push them to be seen to a wider audience. POV Female project aims to show the city of Bogota through the eyes of their own citizen. The project is carefully curated to give a positive and yet strong artistic look to the city of Bogota.
