In the early 2000s, Elizabeth successfully licensed the name Imelda s Fine Shoes from the original owners in Baton Rouge and Lafayette, and opened her store as a premiere ladies shoe, clothing and accessories boutique. During her retail years, Elizabeth keenly searched out the latest trends and styles for her customers, ran the day to day operations of the retail business, managed employees, and maintained great customer relations with her clients. Elizabeth sold her business and capitalized on her sweat equity and business savvy at a time when she needed to spend some time at home with her small children. She took a couple of years off. For the past fifteen years, Elizabeth has been very involved in various aspects of community service serving on many committees and boards.
