We provide quality care, leading innovation and personalized treatment plans for each patient to treat a broad range of cancers. Our patient-centered focus ensures access to convenient, timely appointments, clinical trials and a host of support services all aimed at helping patients heal. Mount Sinai was the first hospital in Florida to receive the Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) consecutively for three cycles. The CoC created this award to recognize programs that strive for excellence in providing quality cancer care. In addition, our radiation oncology program was the first in South Florida to earn accreditation from the American College of Radiology. This accreditation represents the highest level of quality and patient safety, and is awarded to facilities meeting specific practice guidelines and technical standards. As a recognized radiation safety provider, Mount Sinai has strict safety measures in place to ensure that patients receive radiation only when it is necessary and in the smallest possible dosage. 2 CONTENT AND THEME CONFIRMED SPEAKERS INCLUDE Lung cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in both men and women, and the most prevalent cause of cancer death in the United States. A comprehensive array of diagnoses and treatment options, including minimally invasive, robotic-assisted surgery, and access to clinical trials, are important considerations for patients in general. Advances in diagnostic imaging and biomedical research continue to evolve rapidly and it will continue to affect screening and therapeutic procedures and programs. Cost-benefit analysis and public policy implications for coverage and reimbursement will also play a significant role in these. KEY TOPICS Through a series of presentations, sessions, and panel discussions, this event will cover some of the major current concerns of the industry. Initiating a comprehensive Lung Cancer Screening program from zero to excellence level Applying best practices for screening quality control, dosages, and diagnostics Identifying high risk patients Creating guidelines for preventive screening, care, and maintenance Addressing the challenges to implementing screening programs Integrating Lung Cancer Screening and smoking cessation programs Implementing strategies to ensure patient follow-up Deploying Lung Cancer Screening responsibly and equitably Exploring the latest advances in CT imaging and biomedical research Analysing and reporting mechanisms for development of care Understanding the importance of multiand inter- disciplinary nature of lung cancer Balancing regulatory and cost analysis for viability and success Conference Chairperson Andrea Borondy Kitts, MS, MPH, Patient Outreach and Research Specialist LAHEY HOSPITAL AND MEDICAL CENTER Juan Carlos Batlle, MD, MBA, Chief of Thoracic Imaging, Associate Professor, FIU - School of Medicine BAPTIST HEALTH SOUTH FLORIDA Andrew Salner, MD, FACR, Medical Director HARTFORD HEALTHCARE CANCER INSTITUTE AND HARTFORD HOSPITAL Kathryn Taylor, PhD, Professor, Department of Oncology, Cancer Prevention and Control Program LOMBARDI COMPREHENSIVE CANCER CENTER GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER Gabriela Dieguez, Principal and Consulting Actuary MILLIMAN Matthew Schabath, PhD, Associate Member, Department of Cancer Epidemiology MOFFITT CANCER CENTER April Plank, DNP, Co-Director THE CENTER FOR LUNG CANCER SCREENING AND PREVENTION at STONY BROOK UNIVERSITY CANCER CENTER Ana Ruiz, Manager, Cancer Program Estelamari Rodriguez, MD, Medical Director Thoracic Oncology, Chair, Women s Centered Care Network Brett Schussel, MSN, FNP-BC, Nurse Practitioner Director of Lung Cancer Screening Program UCLA MEDICAL CENTER Robert C.
