2 Program Overview P R O G R A M O V E R V I E W Since 2003, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) has offered NCCN International Guidelines Symposia to communicate the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology. NCCN has worked in a direct and interactive way around the world with local oncologists and other clinical professionals to share adaptations (with appropriate modification) of the NCCN Guidelines in those countries. Symposia have been held in China, India, Japan, Korea,Taiwan, and Mexico. In 2008, NCCN held its first program in Al Ain, UAE with more than 400 attendees. In 2009, with support in part from the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), NCCN will expand the program to a 3 day activity with anticipation of more than 750 participants. Regional panels in respective tumor types will convene prior to the Congress and bring with them proposed modifications to the NCCN Guidelines.These will be addressed during the breakout sessions. Participants will have developed the regional version at the end of the session. In addition, the collection of guidelines modifications will be published as a monograph in the JNCCN The Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Sheikh zayed Grand Mosque S H E I K H Z A Y E D G R A N D M O S Q U E Visitors to the Armed Forces Officers Club will witness Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which is one of the largest Mosques in the world; able to accommodate more than 30,000 worshipers. Named after His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the late President of the UAE, the structure covers an area of more than 22,000 square meters and some 210,000 cubic metres of concrete and 33,000 tons of steel reinforcement was used in its construction. The beautiful Mosque is completely clad in marble and also features intricate Islamic decoration and carvings as well as extensive landscaping works. The architectural design of the mosque as a landmark building focused on the factors that would make a lasting impression on the worshipper.

8 Accommodations A C C O M M O D A T I O N S The Armed Forces Officers Club Abu Dhabi, UAE The venue and conference hotel for the 2 nd Annual Middle East & North Africa (MENA) NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology Congress is the Armed Forces Officers Club in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The Armed Forces Officers Club and Hotel is a brief 20 minute drive from the Abu Dhabi International Airport and is 1 hour and 10 minutes from Dubai International Airport. It is a five-star hotel with elegantly appointed accommodations including many suites. All rooms have brand new plasma televisions. The Hotel is complete with a fully-staffed business centre, Olympic-size swimming pool, and many other luxury amenities. It boasts eight restaurants serving a variety of international cuisine.
