NYU Winthrop Advising that they will No Longer Serve Community as a Pediatric Trauma Center. Letter read aloud to the body, copy will be attached to the minutes. NYU Winthrop Advising that Dr. Axelrad is No Longer with them and Request that Dr. D Andrea Joseph be Appointed to REMAC. Dr. D. Joseph, RTAC Chair Request Appointment to REMAC. Dr. D. Joseph Advising they Delayed their Verification for Pediatric Trauma Designation but are Still a Level I Trauma Center for Patients 15 & Older. Dr. Ng Re Attendance and Wish to Remain on REMAC. Dr. Moskovitz Re Attendance and Resignation from REMAC. NYS DOH SEMSCo Request Nomination/Re-nomination of REMAC Representative to SEMSCo. Dr. A. Axelrad Request his Intention to Remain on REMAC All Agencies Medical Directors & EDs Advising Proposed Protocol Changes and Comment Period are Posted on Web. Floral Park FD Advising they do Not have Approval to Use Albuterol, Naloxone, Syringe Epinephrine, or 12-Lead ECG. New Hyde Park FD Advising they do Not have Approval to Use Albuterol, Naloxone, or EpiPen. Dr. Moskovitz Membership Intentions. Dr. Ng Membership Intentions. Reports: Chairman SEMAC Q.I. Jax, RN REPORTS Chairman (DK) Thanked NUMC and Dr. Politi for hosting the REMAC meeting. Thanked all on the REMAC, Committees, and Staff for their attendance and efforts over the past year and Barry Rigney for all his help with the protocols. Wished all a happy and joyous holiday season. Apologized on behalf of Northwell for the shortages in medication replacement. SEMAC (DK) the next meeting will be in January, will have a report for the February meeting. Q.I. Credentials Subcommittee (DK) no meeting. Policy Subcommittee (NK) no meeting. Regional Trauma Advisory Committee (JJ) cellphone app for EMS that will allow EMS to talk and transmit to the individual hospital EDs, the hospital pay for the program and EMS gets to use the app free. Discussion was had since there are a few apps that are around and they would like to have all agree on one so everyone is on the same system. Chair formed a subcommittee and appointed J Kugler as Chair and members Jax, Grlic, Mastakouris, Haiken, and Joseph. Unfinished Business Medication Shortage Drug shortages was inadvertently omitted. ALS Protocol Changes there being no comments, a Motion to approve by Kirschen/J Kugler was made and a vote was taken and Passed unanimously. Policy Policy I.T Protocol Utilization (revised) 2 nd Motion to approve there was discussion followed by a Motion to table Ryan/J. Kugler Passed unanimously. Procedure II.E ALS Technician Credentialing (revised) 2 nd Motion to approve change modification to the draft was discussed and accepted Cherson/Ryan Passed unanimously. New Business Bellmore FD Request Approval to Use BLS Albuterol, EpiPen, Naloxone, and PAD - Motion to approve Kirschen/Ting passed unanimously. Bellmore-Merrick EMS Request Approval to Use BLS Albuterol, EpiPen, Naloxone, and 12- Lead ECG - Motion to approve Kirschen/Zaso passed unanimously. Floral Park FD Request Approval to Use BLS Albuterol, EpiPen, Naloxone, and 12-Lead ECG - Motion to approve Kirschen/Ting passed unanimously. Lynbrook FD Request Approval to Use BLS AED, Albuterol, CPAP, EpiPen, Naloxone, and 12-Lead ECG - Motion to approve Ting/Kirschen passed unanimously. Point Lookout Lido FD Request Approval to Use BLS 12-Lead ECG, Albuterol, CPAP, EpiPen, and Naloxone Motion to approve Kirschen/Ryan passed unanimously. REMAC Voting Members Motion by Kirschen/Rohe to Request REMSCo to renew Membership of all voting members including Dr. Ng passed unanimously. Motion by Kirschen/J Kugler to request REMSCo to Appoint Dr. Neubert and Dr. Joseph as Voting Members of the REMAC passed unanimously. Nominate/Re-nomination of REMAC Representative to NYS SEMSCo Motion by Zaso/Ting to Nominate to be reappointed as the REMAC member to the SEMAC passed unanimously. Jax spoke about Dr. D Angelo s work with cellphone app for EMS that will allow EMS to talk and transmit to the individual hospital EDs, the hospital pay for the program and EMS gets to use the app free. Received 76 referrals & conducted follow-ups with no trends noted. We have been following the destination triage of Pediatric Trauma patients since the withdrawal of WUH as a pediatric Trauma Center & have noted no problematic trends to date. We will continue to monitor the situation as time permits.
