1 Daily Bulletin for Monday, March 27, 2017 TEEN POLICE ACADEMY Will meet at 5:00 PM tomorrow at the LOPD. Parents are encouraged to attend also. A meal will be provided. HOSA Will meet at 3:00 on Wednesday, March 29, in Mrs. Conner s room. PROM Prom tickets are now on sale at a cost of $35 each. See Mrs. Wynn in the front office to purchase yours. Seniors who want to run for Prom King and Queen must sign up with Mrs. Wynn. You may begin putting your signs up. Do not put them on any doors. Voting will take place during both lunches on March 29. SUMMER DRIVING Summer driving sign-ups have begun. See Mr. Davis in room #119 to sign up. There is limited space available, so don t wait! ESSAY CONTEST The Suwannee River Catfish Festival is sponsoring a scholarship essay contest for seniors at SHS and BHS. They must be a minimum of 500 words, must be related to the history of Branford, the Suwannee River, and the people who made an impact on both. The essay must include use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Essays must also include an original quote about the Suwannee River of 10 words or less. Essays are due to the main office on or before March 31. GIRLS SOCCER BANQUET Will be held at 6:00 pm in the atrium on March 31. Players eat free. All others must purchase a ticket. Adults are $8 and students are $5. Give head count to Mrs. Wynn by this Friday. Varsity girls must return your warm-ups to Coach Curls by this Friday. NHS The NHS scholarship application is now available. See Mrs. Brown-Thomas to pick one up. The deadline to turn it in is April 7. All members of NHS need to pick up their Cystic Fibrosis materials. They re due on March 29. The next NHS meeting will be at 3:00 on March 29. This is a mandatory meeting. GRAD BASH Seniors who have already paid their deposit for Grad Bash must pay their remaining balance in full by March 31. Your permission slips are also due at that time. MAJORETTE TRYOUTS Will be held on Tuesday, April 11, at 3:30 in the gym. See Ms. Waters in Opportunity School to pick up a tryout packet. FINANCE ACADEMY Do you dream of having a career in business. If so, the SHS Finance Academy is just for you. If you d like more information, see Mrs. Roberts in room 341. BULLDOG BANK First Federal has announced the opening of Bulldog Bank manager positions for next school year. If you d like more information, stop by the Bulldog Bank or see Mrs. Roberts in room 341. SCHOLARSHIPS Seniors, several scholarship applications are available. See Ms. Williams in Guidance. DRESS CODE - Absolutely no holes, rips, or tears are allowed in student s clothing. 1
2 SCHOLARSHIP The AADC Scholarship application is available. Applicants must have a 3.0 or better GPA. The deadline to apply is April 29. See Ms. Williams in Guidance. MATH LAB - Free math tutoring is available in Math Lab. It is open Mondays & Thursdays in Mrs. Brown-Thomas' room, #19 and Tuesdays & Wednesdays in Mr. Sellers' room, #342. The hours are 3:00-4:00 PM. PARKING Students who drive to school must have their SHS parking permit. Those who do not have it will not be allowed to park on campus. Be reminded that anyone who parks in the Publix shopping center parking lot without their permission is subject to be towed at the vehicle owner s expense. BULLYING - Bullying will not be tolerated in Suwannee County Schools. It's important that all students have a safe learning environment and therefore, there are several methods for reporting suspected bullying incidents: You can contact a school by phone and report it to school personnel You can make a report in person You can submit an Online Bullying Report from the Suwannee High School website, PARKING SHS students are NOT PERMITTED to park in the Publix or Cheek and Scott parking lots, without the express permission of the business owners. Vehicles that violate this warning will be towed at the owner s expense. BUS RIDERS All students that ride a bus home in the afternoon are reminded that you must be boarded on the bus by 3:06 each day, or you will be left behind. The buses cannot wait for you. DRIVING IN THE BUS COMPOUND Students are NOT to drive into the bus compound until after 3:00. 2

6 Monday, May 29 Memorial Day. School is closed. Senior Activities Graduation 2017 Tuesday, May 30 The Senior will begin at 8:30 AM in the cafeteria. This is a "Senior Only" event. There is no charge. Immediately following the breakfast, practice for Baccalaureate and the awards assembly will be held in the auditorium. You must attend this practice. SCHOOL DRESS CODE APPLIES!! DO NOT WEAR CAP & GOWN. Seniors-Only Movie Night will be held at Langford Stadium. The gates will open at 7:00 p.m. The movie will start at approximately 8:00 p.m. Free refreshments.
