2 2I st International Implant Therapy Meeting Verona 2OI8 welcome! The main focus of 21st International Implant Therapy Congress is the implant patient. This year s congress introduces new perspectives and paradigms of clinical success from the point of view of the patient. The patient judges the ability of the entire implant team to respond to his needs and expectations; the patient interprets clinical protocols and techniques used to restore his dentition. Presenters highlight all areas of patient s expectations, needs and demands through observations and checklists. They correlate results with expectations, by evaluating patient s satisfaction. They present therapeutic techniques and protocols in a context of relationality with the patient. The common denominator of all presentations is the patient s subjective perceptions before, during and after treatment. Today s patient is competent, well informed and attentive; he expects interactions just as competent and attentive. He wants to be perceived not as a mere clinical problem to be solved, but as a person in need to communicate and to relate. Some of the key evaluative factors to judge patient s satisfaction relate to emotions (level of anxiety or fear); function (the event that prompt the patient to seek treatment); aesthetics (the desire to emulate a certain model); economics (when money is a limiting factor); time constraints. The title of each session of the congress is: Treatment outcome and patients s perception of clinical success (in various contexts of the implant therapy).
