3 President s Letter Dear Colleagues, dear Friends of AIC, the recent change of AIC into Italian Academy of Conservative and Restorative Dentistry is the natural consequence of narrower boundaries between Conservative and Prosthetic Dentistry. The evolution of direct and indirect aesthetic adhesive materials allows restorative treatment plans not limited to the single tooth but involving complex multidisciplinary rehabilitations. For this reason, our next Annual Meeting which will be held in Turin at the Lingotto Congress Center on May 10 th -12 th 2018 will focus on the Indirect Adhesive Restorations. On Thursday May 10 th, the Pre-congress Course by Christian Coachman mentor of the Digital Smile Design will lead us in the digital planning world of restorative aesthetic treatment. The meeting will continue on Friday with a careful and competitive analysis of indirect restorative materials (composite resin, feldspatic ceramics, lithium disilicate and zirconia) held by dentist/dental-technician teams under the common theme: #the_indirect_way. This comparison will allow to understand the workflows of both the Dental Office and the Dental Laboratory to achieve excellent clinical outcomes. Saturday will be dedicated to Samuele Valerio after 10 years from his death. An unforgettable mentor that developed the modern foundations of Restorative Dentistry defining the foundations on which AIC is still standing today. The Sam & Friends session will bring us to the memory of his principles and his work, revised in the light of the latest multidisciplinary restorative approaches thanks to lectures presented by his students and close friends. Over the recent years, AIC constantly increased his memberships to over 1,000 practitioners with a great success at the 2017 International Congress AIC & Conseuro held in Bologna last May and registering than 1,600 participants from several European and non- European countries. While we are proud of this high recognition, we are also aware of the responsibility that our scientific proposal should satisfy such a large and selected audience. We look forward to seeing you at the next Meeting focused on objective information and latest update in our professional interests and our daily clinical needs. We await for you in Turin! It s self-evident that with the change of the entire dental panorama it can be very burdensome for a single professional to keep up. The connection is secured by metro, bus and tram lines. The Lingotto Station can be reached by foot via the Passerella Olimpica (Olympic Walkway). The airport Sandro Pertini (16 km from the city center) can be reached in 30 minutes by taxi at rates agreed between the city of Turin and the taxi cooperatives, or with the terminal bus departing from the Porta Nuova, Porta Susa and Corso Vittorio Railway Stations. ITALIAN CME The Congress will be accredited for Dentists by the Italian Ministry of Health. REGISTRATION Attendance to the Pre-congress Course and the Annual Congress is open to Dentists and Dental Technicians.
