The defensiveness of the small archipelago is particularly impressive compared to the Turks, as they were able to launch large conquest trains in Europe, and bite their teeth in Malta. 5 Background and CV s Dr. Carole Charavet (France) Dr. Carole Charavet graduated with a DDS degree in dentistry and also completed a post-graduate program in Orthodontics and DentoFacial Orthopedics at the University of Liege, Belgium with the highest award. Currently, she is Adjunct Head of Clinic at the University of Liege and she is pursuing a PhD in the field of innovative orthodontic treatment using piezosurgery and regenerative procedures in collaboration with the Department of Periodontology of the University of Liège, with Boston University and with Marseille University. She is the author and co-author of international publications, she acts as a reviewer for international journals and she obtained several research prices. Dr. Julia García Baeza (Spain) Dr. García Baeza has a PhD since 2017, she received the maximum distinction Cum Laude for her investigation on self-ligation brackets. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and member of the Spanish Society of Orthodontics. She received her Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science in Oral Biology from the University of Pennsylvania. With a Passion for Excellence, Dr. Baeza s dedication to clinical orthodontics and multidisciplinary work is recognized in Spain and abroad. Dr. Alexander Gebhardt (Germany) Dr. Gebhardt received his DDS and Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Giessen, Germany. He is a member among others of the Germany Orthodontic Society, and both the German and European Lingual Societies. Dr. Gebhardt maintains a private practice in Bad Wildungen, Germany since 2003 and lectures both nationally and internationally on Lingual Treatments and Indirect bonding. Dr. Arti Hindocha (England) Dr. Hindocha received her BDS from King s College London Dental Institute and her Master of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics from Eastman Dental and Kettering General Hospitals in She is a member of many committees and societies and is current President of the European Postgraduate Student Orthodontic Society working on many projects to promote a high level orthodontics specialists in Europe. Dr. Anthony Ireland (England) Dr. Ireland is Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Bristol (UK) and Consultant Orthodontist at the Royal United Hospitals in the City of Bath. He is currently the Training Programme Director of the Post Graduate Programme in Orthodontics, in the South West of England, leading to the DDS/M.Orth, and is also co-supervisor on 3PhD and 12 DDS research dissertations at the University of Bristol. His main research interests include biomaterials of relevance to orthodontics and orthodontic clinical trials, and has over 140 publications in peer reviewed journals, two textbooks and contributed four book chapters on orthodontics. Dr. Collin Jacobs (Germany) Dr. Collin Jacobs received his MD at the Heinrich Heine-University of Dusseldorf and DMD at the Ludwig-Maxilimians University in Munich. He received his Msc of Lingual Orthodontics under the head of Prof. Schwestka-Polly and Professor Wiechmann in 2016 and his PhD at the Department of Orthodontics at the Johannes Gutenberg-University of Mainz. Since 2013, he is chief resident in the ortho department at University of Mainz. He published over 30 papers and is lecturing national and international. Dr. Ronald Jonkman (Holland) Dr. Ronald Jonkman received his DMD from the Free University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. From he was Assistant professor and later Associate Professor of the Catholic University of Nijmegen (now Radboud University). He received his PhD degree at Catholic University of Nijmegen and from was Associate professor University of Hamburg, Germany. Dr. Jonkman is Currently Lead Professor, Department of Orthodontics, Erasmus University Medical Centre in Rotterdam (The Netherlands). Dr. Michel Le Gall (France) Dr. Le Gall received his degree in Dental Science from the University of Marseille, France. He completed a post-graduate program in Orthodontics and DentoFacial Orthopedics at the same university in He achieved his MS in Biological Sciences and his PhD degree from the University of Marseille in the field of mechanical-energy in Dr. Le Gall is currently the Head of the Unit of Orthodontics and DentoFacial Orthopedics at the University Hospital of Marseille. He is involved in many research projects as the Director of the Post Graduate Program in Orthodontics as well as a collaborator in the Laboratory of Biomechanical Application. He is the co-founder of the TGO Technique de Glissement Optimisée, which combines the advantages of the In-Ovation system with a new and unique prescription in the anterior region. Dr. Oliver Liebl (Germany) Dr. Oliver Liebl studied dentistry at the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg, Germany and earned his specialization in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena, Germany. At University he focuses on TMJ and adult treatments. Since 2005 he maintains an exclusive orthodontic practice in Wertheim, Germany with his main focus on the CCO System, self-ligating Brackets, TADs, Lingual appliance and digital Orthodontics. Dr. Liebl is Founder and Boardmember for the Society for Digital Orthodontics. Dr. Enrico Pasin (Germany) Dr. Enrico Pasin attended the University of Witten/ Herdecke in Witten (Germany) and received his doctor of dentistry in From he attended the University of Marburg (Germany) to continue his postgraduate studies in orthodontics under the heads of department: Prof. Dr. Jos Dibbets and Prof. Dr. Hans Pancherz. Dr. Pasin received his specialty in orthodontics in 2008 and maintains his private orthodontic practice in Bad Reichenhall, Germany, in He is the inventor of the Class II device BBC and the TAD Pasin-Pin-System. Dr. Stephan Peylo (Germany) Dr. Stephan Peylo received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine and Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Mainz, Germany. Before receiving his Registration as a Specialist in Orthodontics, Dr. Peylo interned and trained in Orthodontics and the Treatment of TMJ-Disorders and Orofacial Pain at the University of the Pacific and UCSF, San Francisco. From he was Assistant Professor at the University of Mainz. He is reviewer for the European Journal of Orthodontics, founding member and delegate to the council of DigiOrtho. Dr. Antonino Secchi (USA) Dr. Antonino Secchi maintains a private practice in Devon, PA. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and a member of the Angle Society of Orthodontics. He received his DMD, Certificate in Orthodontics, and a Master of Science in Oral Biology from the University of Pennsylvania, where for 10 years he held the position of Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinical Director of the Department of Orthodontics. Dr. Secchi has published in various dental and orthodontic journals in the areas of treatment mechanics and the straight wire appliance. He wrote the chapter Contemporary Mechanics using the Straight Wire Appliance for the last two editions of the Graber/ Vanarsdall/Vig orthodontics textbook. He is the founder of the Complete Clinical Orthodontics System (CCO System). Dr. Raffaele Spena (Italy) Dr. Spena received his degree in Odontoiatria e Protesi Dentaria at the II Facolta di Medicina e Chirurgia of Napoli, his Certificate in Orthodontics at the Dental School of the University of Pennsylvania and his Master in Orthodontics at the University of Ferrara. He is a published author, and international speaker, an active member of the Angle Society of Europe, past president of the Italian Academy of Orthodontists and Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Ferrara. Dr. Sandy Van Teeseling (Holland) Dr. Sandy van Teeseling maintains a private orthodontic practice in Haarlem since He studied dentistry at the Free University in Amsterdam and received his orthodontic training at the University of Nijmegen ( ). He is affiliated at the department of Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery at the VU Medical Centre and the Academic Medical Centre both in Amsterdam where he is involved in the interdisciplinary management of orthognathic patients. He is also staff member at the Orthodontic Department of the University Medical Centre Groningen. He is a member of several interdisciplinary teams managing and treating complex dental patients. Dr. Frank Weiland (Austria) Dr Frank Weiland received his dental degree from the University of Amsterdam and his postgraduate orthodontic training in Germany and Austria. He earned a dr.med.dent. from the University of Bern and a PhD from the University of Graz. He published 25 articles as first or corresponding author in peer reviewed journals and several book chapters. He is a member of the European Board of Orthodontists and a provisional member of the Angle Society of Europe. He maintains a full-time private practice in Deutschlandsberg (Austria). Participation in Workshop of Kathy Artman (USA) Kathy Artman is Clinical Affairs Specialist, Dentsply Sirona Orthodontics, and specializes in the Essix Product Line and the various technique available for Minor Tooth Movement. Along with her daily activities on the Essix educational platform, Kathy has a particular interest in Sports Dentistry and works closely with the Academy of Sports Dentistry in the USA.
