Poster presentation, orthodontic assistant training course and trade exhibition will take place simultaneously. The conference will take place at Nanshan Education & Training Center during December 09-11, 2011, and the theme is The New World of Esthetics. 3 Keynote Speaker Dr. Ravindra Nanda Ravindra Nanda is at present UConn Alumni Endowed Chair, and Professor Dr. and Head of the Department of Craniofacial Sciences and Chair of division of Orthodontics, University of Connecticut, Farmington, Connecticut, U.S.A. He received his dental training from Lucknow University, India in He received his orthodontic training first at Lucknow, India and then from Nymegen, The Netherlands and the University of Connecticut. He also received a Ph.D. for the University of Nymegen in He was an Assistant Professor of Orthodontics at Loyola University, Illinois from 1970 to 1972 and since 1972 he has been associated with the University of Connecticut. Dr. Nanda has done extensive research during the last forty years in the areas of cleft lip and palate, orthopedic forces and on long-term growth with orthognathic surgery in adolescents. In recent years, his major thrust has been in development of orthodontic wires, clinical orthodontic trials and application of biomechanics in a busy orthodontic practice. Dr. Nanda has been author and co-author of five orthodontic books and more than one hundred scientific and clinical articles in major journals. He is on the editorial board of ten different national and international orthodontic journals. He is an associate editor of Journal of Clinical Orthodontics. He is an active member of various organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, European Orthodontic Society and Edward H. Angle Society. Dr. Nanda is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He has given numerous named lectures at national and international societies including Mershon Lecture at American Association of Orthodontics and Sheldon Friel Lecture at 2011 EOS Congress. Dr.Nanda is a co-editor of a book Retention and Stability. His most recent books are Biomechanics in Clinical Orthodontics and Biomechanic and Esthetic Strategies In Clinical Orthodontics, Temporary Anchorage Devices in Orthodontics. His new book is titled Current Therapy in Orthodontics.

7 The 23 rd Taiwan Association of Orthodontists Annual Conference Call for Papers Oral presentation Poster Presentation 1. The Organizing Committee invites submission of abstracts for presentation at the 23 rd TAO Annual Conference: Abstracts will be considered to oral and poster presentations. 2. The maximum allotted time for each oral presentation will be 12 minutes followed by 3 minutes for questions and answers. 3. Poster size should not exceed 0.945m (width) x 1.91m (height), Board size: 1m (width) x 2m (height) 4. The official language is English & Chinese. Scientific Communications 5. All Oral and Poster participants must complete the Abstract Form. Please follow strictly the guidelines below, as failure to comply may lead to rejection of the abstract. 6. All abstracts must be submitted together with a completed registration form and payment for registration. 7. The Scientific Subcommittee will only consider abstracts that are received by 31 st of Oct and presenting authors will be notified by 30 th of Nov Abstract Guidelines 1. The title should be brief (no more than 50 characters that include space), clearly indicating objective of the study. Titles should be typed in all capital letters. Do not include subtitle. 2. State names of author(s) and detail of institution, city and country after the title. The family name of each author should precede the initials of the first name. Omit degree, titles etc. The institution, city and country of each author should follow the author's name. Underline the name of the presenting author. 3. The text should be typed or printed in the box, using single line spacing and Times New Roman 12 point font. Do not indent titles or paragraphs. Do not include drawings/charts in abstracts. Do not erase or type outside the box. Abstracts will be reproduced exactly as submitted. 4. Abstracts should focus on the Congress Topics. 5. All abstracts must be completed in English. 6.
