Hung-Shan Chen, elected president of SPIE NCTU Student Chapter in August 2011, is working hard with the other elected officers to recruit new members (12 people) and to participate in many events. We also arranged 1 seminar for inviting Prof. Dabrowski from Poland (who is a great master in liquid crystal chemistry), and lab tours for many important guests (professors and experts) from overseas and industry. We also sponsored the volleyball and tennis team (under the name of SPIE NCTU student chapter) of our department to attend the national photonics campaign, and won the champion and the 3 rd place back, respectively. Finally our student members also attend 2 SPIE conferences (Photonic west and Optics + Photonics) in 2012 where we received many great experience and memories from Workshop and Optics Outreach Olympic, and we won the laser chess champion, and 2 Newport award back.
