He will define facial beauty and how this is affected with the aging process and sun damage. This will lead to an overview of non-surgical and surgical treatment options for facial rejuvenation. He will follow with a comprehensive discussion of neuromodulators and fillers for facial esthetics. A review of possible complications that can occur with neuromodulator and facial filler therapy is included. Finally an overview of the multi-disciplinary based University of Alberta Facial Esthetics program being offered through the Continuing Education Department. Dr. Saranjeev Lalh received his Dental degree from University of Alberta in 1994 and his Medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in He completed two years of General Surgery training followed by completion of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program from Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh in Dr. Lalh received his Fellowship status of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Dr. Lalh then went on to pursue academics by becoming the Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Co-Director of the Dental Implant Clinic at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry from 2001 to He now continues teaching on a part time basis as a Clinical Professor. He founded Renew Oral & Facial Surgical Centre, a private certified non-hospital surgical centre in He has subsequently transitioned from academics into full time private surgical practice, devoting his clinical practice more to implant surgery, facial reconstructive and orthognathic surgery, and cosmetic facial plastic surgery. He was recently appointed the Oral and Maxillofacial Reconstruction Surgeon at the internationally recognized clinical and research Institute for Reconstructive Sciences in Medicine (irsm) at the Misercordia Hospital and Covenant Health, dealing with reconstruction of patient s with head and neck cancer. Dr. Lalh also continues to conduct evidence based research through the University of Alberta and has had the opportunity to lecture extensively both nationally and internationally on various surgical topics. His special interest is using new technological advances in digital imaging for reconstructive surgical procedures and also on non-surgical and surgical aspects of cosmetic facial surgery. Dr. Saranjeev Lalh is a member of many professional organizations. He is involved in various healthcare committees in the Alberta Health Services in the Edmonton Zone Medical Staff Association Committee and the Zone Medical Staff Association. Nationally, he is involved in the Canadian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Cosmetic Surgery Special Interest Group, and a member at large on the CAOMS Foundation.

Those with a keen interest in advanced multidisciplinary treatment planning are welcome. This study club has been active in Calgary for 20 years and has numerous local specialists as members and mentors (Dr. A. Demeter, Dr. L. Harfield, Dr. D. Reikie, Dr. C. Wiebe, Dr. T. Fairbanks and Dr. D. Staniloff). These monthly dinner meetings run from October until March and include guest speakers, member participation and treatment planning discussions.
