3 39th Annual Advances in Dermatology COURSE DESCRIPTION Dermatology is a rapidly evolving specialty, with new advances in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology made every year. New medications and treatment modalities for both common and uncommon dermatological disease have been released, or will be in the next few years, that will change the treatment indications for these conditions. In addition, older medications may still play a role in treating these conditions and how they should be properly incorporated is vital for optimizing patient outcomes. This two-day program will educate practitioners with an interest in the care of persons with skin disorders with current therapeutic options and treatment guidelines as taught by an experienced faculty. It will focus on newly emerging clinically applicable knowledge-ranging from new guidelines to recognition of emerging agents and adverse events to translational research-regarding the best approaches to management of patients in order to receive the best quality of care/outcomes for patients suffering from both common and uncommon dermatologic conditions, including clinical needs for skin of color. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES After participating in this activity, clinicians should be able to: Identify best applications of new topical and systemic therapies for acne, rosacea, psoriasis and eczema, provide detailed descriptions of side effect profiles to patients, and safely deploy new treatments with more confidence Communicate with patients algorithmically in a tiered approach for their specific problem Utilize dermoscopy and trichoscopy to diagnose skin, hair and scalp disease TARGET AUDIENCE Dermatologists, advanced practice providers, residents, fellows, and medical students LOCATION NYU Langone Health Alumni Hall 550 First Avenue New York, NY COURSE FEES Full: $495 Residents and Fellows: $25 Please note: This course is eligible for NYU School of Medicine Alumni discount.
