4 Statement of need: The management of malignancies continues to evolve, making it critical that the Radiation Oncologist be familiar with the most recent clinical and translational research in order to incorporate into their clinical practices. This impacts treatment recommendations, radiation treatment planning, and execution of radiation treatment. Our goal is to review the most significant presentations made over the course of the year either in scientific journals or at a national conference with a focus on the following oncologic subsites: CNS, Gynecology, Head and Neck, Pediatrics, Thoracic, Gastrointestinal, Lymphoma, and Breast. There will be a focus on highlighting the major presentations that were presented at the 59th Annual ASTRO meeting. Through didactic lectures upon conclusion of this program learners will increase their knowledge in the field of Oncology and specifically Radiation Oncology and be better able to positively impact everyday clinical practice. Program objectives: All CME activities are intended to improve patient care, safety and outcomes. At the conclusion of this conference participants should be able to: Review the highlights and important abstracts from the 2017 meeting. Summarize evolving treatment options for various malignancies including central nervous system, breast and gynecologic, head and neck, thoracic, genitourinary, gastrointestinal and hematologic. Discuss various on-going Oncology and Radiation Oncology clinical trials that are available to cancer patients and hypothesize about the impact on patient care and outcomes. Recognize inconsistencies and variations in the evaluation, management and treatment of the patient and develop a strategy to incorporate best practices of Radiation Oncology across all disciplines and settings. Target audience: MDs, PAs, NPs, RNs and those clinicians within the specialties of radiation oncology, medical oncology, surgical oncology, physics and dosimetry. CME accreditation: is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Credit designation: designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 6.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Nursing credit: The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) will accept 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit as equal to 1.0 ANCC contact hour.
