Iran. e-mal: r.alzadeh@lam.ac.r Receved: 09/04/018 Accepted: 106/018 Abstract Introducton: Adropn plays an mportant role n lpd metabolsm; however, no research seems to have been done on the effect of exercse on serum adropn levels. Therefore, the present study attempted to nvestgate the effect of an aerobc exercse sesson wth FATmax ntensty on adropn levels and nsuln resstance among overweght women. Materals and Methods: The partcpants, who volunteered to take part n the research through announcements, ncluded 4 overweght women wth the means and standard devatons of ther age, heght, and weght beng 5.34±4.1 y, 163.6±4.07 cm, and 76.94±4.56 kg, respectvely. The exercse group performed an acute endurance actvty, whle the control group rested for the same amount of tme. In an acute endurance actvty sesson, the partcpants ran on treadmlls for 30 mnutes at ther FATmax ntenstes. Changes n the data for the two groups were calculated, before and after the actvty sesson and then compared usng ndependent-samples t-tests. The sgnfcance level for all the statstcal analyses was set at p<0.05. Results: Results showed sgnfcant dfferences between the two groups n terms of nsuln (p=0.030) and nsuln resstance (p=0.031), but not such a dfference for glucose (p=0.37) and adropn (p=0.330). Concluson: It seems that ths type of actvty, despte ts largely aerobc nature, smply faled to stmulate adropn, due to the effect of the control group s fastng state on ncreasng adropn levels, and/or the lower duraton and ntensty of the actvty.
