2 Joint Sponsorship By: The WSET Annual Meeting & Courses provides comprehensive updates for the diagnostic & research practitioners in the specialties of EEG, Evoked Potentials, Intraoperative Monitoring & Bedside Continuous EEG Monitoring. Experts from Neurology & Neurodiagnostics will present on the state of the science, research applications and advanced updates. In addition, board preparation courses addressing recent changes in the exam, critical information for board prep candidates and invaluable study materials shall be provided. Professionals practicing in the following specialties: EEG Evoked Potentials Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring Neurophysiologists Neurosurgeons Neurologists Orthopedists ENT Surgeons Anesthesiologists Nurses Audiologists At the completion of this symposium, participants should be able to: Discuss the comprehensive principles for conducting and interpreting electrophysiologic studies in EEG, ceeg, EP, & IONM. Identify relevant neuroanatomy and neurophysiology Describe the principles and methods of recording and monitoring Develop an understanding of the elements for clinical decision making Develop an understanding of the basic aspects related to the business of service delivery Registration is available online at: JOIN US FOR ceeg Course: ceeg SUMMIT Registration is limited for this event. 2

3 SECOND ANNUAL ceeg ~ BEDSIDE EEG - EPILEPSY CONFERENCE Largest ceeg Conference in the Nation 2015 WSET will be hosting its second annual ceeg summit. Please consider joining us for WSET Participant Space is limited so sign up now!!! 2015 over 250 attendees at our meeting! Please see below for more information on ceeg: What is ceeg (Bedside EEG)? ceeg is the continuous monitoring of EEG in the critical care environment. It is used to identify patients in non-convulsive status (NES). For a good part of the last three decades it has been a basic tenant of NES that an estimated 8% of consciously sub-optimal hospitalized patients. As the frequency of monitoring increased over the last five years, the actual incidence of NES is closer to 25-35%. How is this different from epilepsy monitoring in the LTM or EMU unit? In the epilepsy monitoring unit we are dealing with the diagnosis & classification of primarily epilepsy patients. Pre-qualification for epilepsy surgery is integrated into this environment as well. This type of monitoring is done by a team of neurology professionals following the patient from diagnosis, through surgery and following them over the life of their condition. In the epilepsy unit the ratio of technologist to patient is very high, as high as 4 to 1 or even 1 to 1. ceeg candidates typically do not have a known history of epilepsy. What are the challenges for hospitals in the ceeg service? Staffing the EEG and Epilepsy departments has been a challenge for the last four decades. ceeg monitoring adds a new wrinkle to this challenge. Hospitals are adding anywhere from five to thirty-five beds of ceeg. This monitoring is conducted 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In order to serve the patient in a quality manner the EEG MUST BE reviewed in real time by a qualified EEG technologist or even a technologist certified in long term epilepsy monitoring. (R. EEG T. and\or CLTM) Acute care facilities are challenged with meeting this staffing need. This summit shall serve to define the need, educate the neuro-community as to the staffing requirements and discuss options for meeting this need. Please join us for the Second Annual ceeg Summit! 3
