1.3 Installation and assembly Place of installation To make workouts on the equipment pleasant, productive and safe, the training space must satisfy certain specific requirements. In particular, before deciding where to install the equipment, we recommend ensuring that: - the temperature is between +10 C and +25 C; - enough air is circulating to keep humidity during exercise to between 20% and 90%; - the lighting is good enough to make the area safe and relaxing place to exercise in; - there is a safety area of free space as shown in the illustration; 1 m 2 m that the floor is flat, stable and vibration-free, and strong enough to bear the weight of the equipment plus user. cont. 8
If the equipment is to be installed in a public recreation area, the place of installation must comply with all binding regulations. Equipment not suitable for use in the presence of anaesthetic mixtures inflammable in air, oxygen or nitrous oxide. In order to guarantee the performance levels stated by Technogym, it is recommended not to use the equipment in an area with a high presence of short waves or similar interference Unpacking The equipment comes partially assembled in a crate on a pallet. In the crate there is: - the equipment, folded up and resting on the pallet; - the side grips The lifting and carrying can be done with normal lifting equipment. To protect people and property, carefully assess what kind of lifting and carrying equipment would normally be used in the place where is to be located. cont. 9
To unpack equipment delivered in a cardboard pack, remove the staples that attach the external packaging to the pallet, and then lift up the pack. Check the pack visually to make sure it is in a good, complete state. To free the contents, remove the three reinforcement frames (A) from around the equipment. A Information You are advised to keep all packaging materials for re-use in case of a move. Warning Observe the legally stated urban waste disposal procedures when disposing of the packaging material. cont. 10
Move the two side grips. To take the equipment off the pallet, two people (at least two, given the equipment's weight) must lift the frame from the rear and push it in the direction of the riser until the wheels touch the ground
1.3.3 Assembly To assemble the side grips (A) firstly disassemble the control panel (B). Unscrew the six screws (C) behind the control panel and raise the top part of the panel. 18 1.3.5 Moving the equipment must be moved in the closed position, holding it by the side grips If flooring conditions prevent use of the wheels, normal moving procedures must be employed. Danger Move the equipment with great care to avoid it tipping over. Warning After moving the equipment always check that it is level in order to guarantee the correct working. 18
1.3.6 Electrical connection Before connecting the equipment to the mains power supply, ensure that the electrical installation complies to binding regulations. Check the information printed on the sticker next to the socket and on the power supply cable. Danger The power supply socket must be grounded. If not, a ground connection must be installed by a qualified electrician before connecting the equipment to the electricity mains. The wall socket must be located in a place where the plugging and unplugging can be done easily and safely. When plugging in, the switch on the equipment must be in the 0 position (i.e. the equipment must be switched off) Plug the power cable first into the equipment socket and then into the wall socket. Warning Check the state of the power supply cable periodically. 19
1.3.7 Grounding instructions The product must be grounded. If it should malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. The product is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances. DANGER Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electrical shock. Check with a qualified electrician or serviceman if you are in doubt as to whether the product is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the product; if it will not fit in the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. 20
1.4 Maintenance Warning The safety of the equipment is assured only on the condition that it is carefully inspected every two weeks for any signs of damage and/or wear. For maintenance operations not described in this manual, consult the Technogym Technical Support Service Routine maintenance Cleaning and looking after the equipment As the equipment is used in a sports centre by more than one person, it should always be kept clean and free of dust, in accordance with normal hygiene and sanitary rules. To clean the control panel, proceed as follows: - turn the equipment off by switching the switch to 0; - unplug the equipment power cable from the wall socket; - clean the control panel with a damp, but not wet, cloth. Every week, clean the equipment completely: - with the equipment turned off, clean the external parts with a damp sponge; - raise the treadmill to the maximum gradient (+12%) and clean around the lower guard and floor with a vacuum cleaner; - clean the tread surface while it is running, using a clean nylon/synthetic brush or broom. Do not use chemical products or solvents. Warning Do not rub too hard on the control panel and diagrams, or on the written instructions on the stickers. 21
1.4.2 Non-routine maintenance Changing the fuse Warning The fuses must be changed by the Technogym Technical Support Service. Danger Before changing the fuses, switch the equipment off by switching the switch to 0 and unplug the power cable plug from the wall socket. Remove the fuse holder, to the right of the switch, by pushing the lever. Replace the blown fuse with a new one, as supplied (10 A 250 V (T)) Fit the fuse holder back into its housing, making sure it clicks in properly _2 Information If the fuses blow repeatedly, lubricate the treadmill. If the problem persists, consult the Technogym Technical Support Service. cont. 22
Danger If no more of the supplied fuses are available, use a certified fuse with identical electrical specifications (i.e. 10 A 250 V (T)) for the replacement. Aligning the treadmill When the equipment is running the treadmill must be centrally aligned in relation to the frame. If it tends to move to the right or left or is not centrally positioned, it needs aligning. The alignment is done with the equipment running. Set the adjustment screw (i), located at the back of the equipment, opposite the control panel support riser, so that the belt is centrally aligned with the back roller i Warning The treadmill realigns slowly: turn the adjustment screw 1/4 or 1/2 a turn and then check the result before turning it again. cont. 23
Lubricating the treadmill is factory-lubricated with products specially designed to have a long lasting effect. Nevertheless, it may become necessary to replenish the film of lubricant between the running track table and the tread belt itself, especially if the treadmill is used intensively (at high speed and with heavy users). If the treadmill runs unevenly, slowing down each time the foot comes down on to the belt, proceed as follows. Stop the treadmill. Set the gradient to 12%. Introduce the spout between the belt and table, as shown in the illustration Oil the tread belt in several different places, without applying an excessive amount of oil. Start the treadmill at a speed of 5 km/h and walk on it for a few seconds. Stop the treadmill and repeat the above steps four times, so as to cover the entire surface of the tread belt. Check that the treadmill now runs smoothly. If the problem persists, consult the Technogym Technical Support Service. 24
1.5 Easily solved problems The following table lists a series of problems that may arise during normal use of. If the solutions given don't solve the problem, or if the problems are different, ask for help from the Technical Support Service. Problem Cause Remedy Equipment doesn't switch on Power supply cable not plugged in Plug the power supply cable into the wall socket Mains power failure Power supply cable damaged Power supply cable connector not plugged into equipment Fuses blown Check the power supply in the mains socket in question by plugging in another appliance that definitely works Contact the Assistance Service Plug the connector in Replace the blown fuse with the spare (see section 1.4.2) cont. 25

For better storage, use the original packing materials. 28
1.8 Scrapping Always ensure that poses no danger to people and do not let children play with it. As a precaution, when the equipment is unused for a long time or when you want to dispose of it, unplug it from the mains. Disposing of the equipment on open ground, in public areas, or in private areas used by the public is prohibited. is made of recyclable materials such as steel, aluminium and plastic, which must be disposed of in compliance with urban waste and refuse regulations, contacting a company specialised in urban and environmental sanitation. Disposing of the chest band The chest band, which transmits heart rate data, is not made of recyclable materials and therefore must not be disposed of on open ground. Contact a company specialized in urban and environmental sanitation. 29
2 Using the is an equipment unit that simulates walking, running and aerobic exercises, which can be performed at different levels of intensity. It is also useful for limb and joint rehabilitation and cardiovascular exercises. This means a wide and diversified range of people can use it, from competitive athletes (for specific cardiovascular training) to ordinary individuals who want to get fit and keep in shape. allows training in safe conditions: - the surface of the treadmill, with its special shock-absorber system, protects the joints and limbs from possible micro-traumas; - when the chest band is worn, the heart rate is monitored constantly and shown on the display, so that the speed most appropriate to the user's physical condition, weight, and age can be worked out and in accordance with the doctor's instructions. The display shows the workout data, which are continuously updated. The control panel can also be used to set and save personal workouts, select one of the programmed routes or exercise freely, changing speed and gradient at will. Danger is to be used solely for its intended purpose, i.e. to simulate walking and running. Any other use is considered improper. 30
2.1 Precautions for safe use Before starting any exercise you are advised to read the whole manual thoroughly and get to know the equipment's controls. can be used only after having a medical check-up for the specific type of exercise to be carried out and in compliance with Technogym's stated use conditions. Before starting a workout program, consult a doctor for advice on any limits to observe when using the equipment. Persons with specific physical complaints may use the equipment only under the strict supervision of a doctor specialised in that particular area. If you feel ill during the workout (dizziness, chest pains, etc.), stop exercising immediately and consult a doctor. If the beep sounds for 5 seconds during the exercise and the message "HIGH HEART RATE" appears, your heart rate is too high and you should slow the exercise down At the beginning of each exercise, make sure you are in the correct position, and that none of the parts of the equipment are in your way. Incorrect or excessive exercise may cause physical harm. Do not allow children unsupervised access to the equipment. cont. 31
While exercising keep your feet away from the ends of the treadmill. Keep your hands away from moving parts when using the equipment. After you have finished exercising, remove the safety switch and store it in a safe place, out of the reach of children Do not stand drinks or liquids on or near the equipment. Always use the tray. Keep garments or towels away from moving parts, as they may constitute a hazard _2 Do not use the equipment near inflammable liquids or gas. The equipment must not be placed close to heat sources or close to sources of electromagnetic waves (e.g. televisions, electrical motors, aerials, cellphones, etc.). Danger There are live electrical parts in the motor compartment, therefore the guard must be removed by authorised personnel only. cont. 32
Although the equipment has been designed and built in accordance with health and safety requirements, there are some zones in which there are unseen hazards. You must be very careful about possible upper and lower limb crushing hazards. Warning Technogym s.p.a. will be held responsible for its equipment only if the following precautions are observed: - the equipment must be used as specified; - the User manual must be read thoroughly throughout; - the place of installation must meet the requirements stated in the User manual; - the electrical system must conform to the standards and legal requirements in the country of use; - the installation, maintenance and setting must be done by qualified Technogym staff or persons authorised by Technogym; - the person in charge of the gym must explain to the users about proper and improper use of the equipment; - suitable clothing must be worn; - towels and other items must not be put on the equipment. 33
2.2 Switching on and off To turn the equipment on, switch the switch to the "I" position (on). When switched on, a beep sounds and all the control panel LEDs light up. After a quick system check (reset), the equipment is ready for use To turn the equipment off, switch the main switch to the "0" position (off). The equipment must be switched off only at the end of the exercise, when in standby, or after having closet. If the equipment isn't going to be used for a long time, as well as turning it off you should also pull the plug out of the wall socket _2 Warning The switch is for turning the equipment on and off but does not isolate it completely from the mains voltage, even in the "0" position (off). For complete isolation you must unplug the power supply plug. 34
2.3 Unfolding After having switched on the equipment, the "UNFOLD THE BELT TO BEGIN THEN PRESS RESET" message is displayed in the Goal dial. The message is displayed until the treadmill is not in the correct position. Press the RESET key: after a quick self-control (reset) the equipment is ready for use. When the equipment is folded, it is blocked in position by a safety stop. To unfold it, press on the release pedal (a) and pull the treadmill downwards, as shown in the illustration a 35
2.4 Folding up During training, the coupling between the front part of the equipment and the rear part (i.e. the treadmill part) is semi-rigid. To disable this coupling at the end of the workout in order to be able to fold the equipment up, press the SMART FOLD key on the control panel. The "FOLD UP THE BELT OR PRESS RESET TO CANCEL" message is displayed in the Goal dial until the belt is not folded up. At this point you can open the belt (see section 2.3) or switch off (see section 2.2) The equipment will lean downwards slightly; at this point grip the rear frame and fold up the belt, as shown in the illustration. After having folded the belt, until the equipment is not switched off the "UNFOLD THE BELT TO BEGIN THEN PRESS RESET" message is displayed in the Goal dial. 36
2.5 Monitoring the heart rate The equipment has a chest band with a Polar T31 heart rate transmitter for the precision monitoring of the heart There must be no more than one transmitter in the reception range, otherwise the receiver may receive different signals at the same time and give incorrect heart rate readings. If there are several equipment units with heart rate receivers in the same area, the recommended minimum distance between them is 80 cm. Heart rate readings will not be accurate near electromagnetic radiation sources (TVs, cellphones, etc.). Should you have any doubts about the accuracy of the readings, contact the Technical Support Service. cont. 37
The following table shows the optimum heart rate levels in relation to age and the goal to be achieved. Theoretical maximum heart rate (100%) is calculated on the basis of age using the formula: age Heart rate per minute Age Area reserved for competitive athlete's workouts (requiring a doctor's certificate) Aerobic zone with a primarily cardio-circulatory component (keep heart rate between 70% and 90%) Aerobic zone primarily using fats as energy source (keep heart rate between 60% and 70%) Zone of little training interest To read the graph, simply find your age on the horizontal axis and scan up the vertical until you reach the 60%, 70% and 90% values. Aerobic exercise performed at a heart rate between 60% and 70% mainly burns fat as an energy source. When doing aerobic exercise at a heart rate of 70% to 90% the cardiocirculatory component prevails. cont. 38
For example, if someone aged 30 wants to burn off fat, the heart rate during exercise should be kept to between 114 (60%) and 133 (70%); if he or she wants to improve cardio-respiratory capacity, the heart rate should be kept to between 133 (70%) and 171 (90%). Danger During a workout it is very important that your heart rate never goes above 90% of your maximum rate (unless you are an athlete engaged in competitive sport). Warning The sole function of the heart rate monitor is to display the heart rate during exercise and cannot be used for medical cardiac diagnoses of any kind. The heart rate shown on the display is purely indicative and cannot be considered absolutely certain
2.6 Ergonomic positioning on the equipment Step on the treadmill from the rear, looking forward, and put your feet on the footrests on either side. In this rest position hold on to the side grip with one hand, using the other hand to operate the control panel When the treadmill starts up, hold on to the side grips with both hands and start walking slowly. The two side grips make it safer when you first use ; later on, however, it's better to walk or run without any support, to improve your balance and posture. At a speed of about 6-7 km/h, the fast walking becomes a gentle run, with gradually lengthening steps. The speed will increase gradually as you feel more sure and stable. cont. 40
Do not lean too far forward or back. The correct position is with your head up, shoulders aligned with your hips, arms loose with elbows at 90, looking straight ahead as if at a point 5-6 metres away Warning Any distractions in the area around the equipment may cause the user to lose his/her balance. The stepping pace must be regular, with legs and feet parallel to the treadmill centre line. Danger Walking or running backwards is prohibited. Using the equipment two at a time is prohibited. To rest without stopping the treadmill or using the controls, simply stand on the footrests on either side. 41

The goal arc and dial The arc of LEDs lights up from left to right in time with the workout, until the set goal is reached. The LED corresponding to the current time/distance/calories portion blinks. The type of goal selected is lit up in the arc during the exercise. In the dial, the display of the numerical value for the selected goal, which proceeds incrementally, alternates with that of all the messages. The buttons, enabled after a goal is selected, are for increasing or decreasing the selected goal value during the exercise. Depending on the type of goal, the value increases or decreases in steps of 1 minute, 0.1 km or 10 calories each time the key is pressed, or faster if the key is held down. 47
3.2 QUICK START workout Workouts started with QUICK START are on a time increment basis; the gradient level is 0, the speed is 0.8 km/ h and the age and weight values are preset. Press the key in stand by; the equipment gives a beep and the treadmill starts. The time is shown in the goal dial and arc as it increases; the LED for the current minute blinks in the arc. The speed and gradient edit keys and the keys and are enabled. At the end of the exercise, the speed and gradient decrease for the cool down. 48
3.3 Cool down At the end of each workout there is cooling down stage, at half the speed and gradient of the exercise just completed. For workouts lasting less than a minute, on the other hand, at the end of the exercise the equipment goes straight into standby. During the cool down only the key is enabled, for going into stand by, and the keys to modify speed and gradient. Everything switches off in the goal arc. Depending on the exercise goal, the goal dial will either show the total time of the exercise just ended, the total distance covered or the total calories burned; this value is alternated with the display of the workout results: average H.R. = 120 bpm - if the heart rate monitor has been used for at least 3 minutes during the exercise. P.I. = 10 - if the heart rate monitor has been used for at least 3 minutes during the exercise. average speed = 12.5 km/h average gradient = 10.0% 49
3.4 Workouts with Goals: Time, Calories, Distance Press the GOAL keys in standby to select an exercise, in which the only parameter to set before starting is the total duration, in terms of time, calories to be burned or distance to cover. Press the key for the selected goal. time = min. 15 calories = 300 distance = km 20.5 Type in the goal value with the number keys and then press ENTER to confirm and proceed. press QUICK START to start Press the QUICK START key to start; the equipment emits a beep and the treadmill starts at gradient 0 and speed 0.8 km/h. The age and weight values are set initially and then the body weight will be requested for the exact calculation of the calories burned. cont. 50

The fitness test is in three stages: 1) a 90 second warm-up stage with gradient 0% and speed 3.5 km/h; 2) a test stage of about 3 minutes at constant heart rate, with initial speed of 3.5 km/h and initial gradient of 4.5% (step 1); 3) a subsequent test stage of about 4 minutes, in constant heart rate mode at 75% of the maximum theoretical H.R. (step 2). The time is shown in the goal dial as it increases. next H.R. = 160 While you are reaching the heart rate required for each step the goal arc stays switched off. STEP 1: H.R. = 160 On reaching the set heart rate, the goal arc lights up from left to right until all the step time expires. Only the STOP key is enabled, for canceling the test. The test cannot be interrupted for a pause. When the STOP key is pressed, or if there is no heart rate signal for 100 consecutive seconds, the test is cancelled, then it ends without giving any result: TEST CANCELLED cont. 56
At the end of the test the speed and gradient decrease for the cool down, during which the results are scrolled: max. H.R. = 180 absolute max VO2 = relative max VO2 = 20.0 mets = 15.0 level = 10 57
3.7 Profile workout With this key you can choose between 6 preset, non-modifiable profiles and between three personal profiles, saved by the trainer Predefined profiles The predefined profiles are variable workouts defined on the basis of one of three goals: time, distance or calorie consumption. The goal value is set in the programming stage and can be changed during the exercise with the corresponding keys. Profile workouts are set at the effort level specified by the user, calculated with the fitness test; you are advised, therefore, to do the fitness test first. The heart rate monitor is not needed for profile workouts. When the dedicated key is pressed you are prompted to select a profile. select profile (1-6) Press one of the number keys for profiles, from 1 to 6, then press ENTER to confirm and proceed. After having selected one of the profiles, select the goal and give the goal value: select goal Press the key for the selected GOAL. cont. 58

Danger You are advised not to do the exercise at a higher effort level than that indicated by the fitness test. Always check that the heart rate is not greater than 90% of the maximum rate (see section 2.5 for the calculation and section 3.1 for the display). cont. 59
press QUICK START to start Press the QUICK START key to start; the equipment beeps and the treadmill starts. During the exercise the goal arc lights up proportionally from left to right until the entire set goal value has expired; the goal's numerical value is shown in the goal dial as it increases and alternates with the display of the information on the unselected goal: i.e. how long ago the exercise started, how many calories have been burned and what distance has been covered. TIME = 3 50 CALORIES = 35 DISTANCE = 3.05 KM When the step is changed, the whole profile is displayed in the goal dial and the new step flashes for a few seconds. The following keys are enabled: - the STOP and PAUSE keys - the speed and gradient edit keys - the goal value edit keys At the end of the exercise the speed and gradient decrease for the cool down. 60
3.7.2 Personal profiles Personal profiles are multiple step workouts in two different modes: constant power or constant heart rate (CPR). For CPR personal profiles, the chest band must be worn. When the dedicated key is pressed you are prompted to select a profile. select profile (1-6) Press one of the number keys for one of the personal profiles, from 01 to 03, then press ENTER to confirm and proceed. age = 30 Type in the age with the number keys and then press ENTER to confirm and proceed. weight = kg 70 Type in the body weight with the number keys and then press ENTER to confirm and proceed. level (1-12) = 10 Type in the effort level (based on the test result) with the number keys, then press ENTER to confirm and proceed. 62 press QUICK START to start Press the QUICK START key to start; the equipment beeps and the treadmill starts. The following keys are enabled: - the STOP and PAUSE keys - the speed and gradient edit keys, which edit the heart rate in the constant heart rate profiles - the goal value edit keys, in the constant power profiles At the end of the exercise the speed and gradient decrease for the cool down. 62
3.7.3 Programming personal profiles When the key is pressed you are prompted to select a profile for the workout. select profile (1-6) Press number keys simultaneously to access personal profiles management. profile (01-03) = 03 Type in the number of the profile to be saved with the number keys, then press ENTER to confirm. If the number entered corresponds to a previously stored profile, this profile will shown in the goal dial display; if you proceed at this point, the previously stored profile will be overwritten. press 1 for power, 2 for CPR = 2 Press number key 1 to program a constant power profile, i.e. with constant speed and gradient values; or number key 2 to program a constant heart rate profile. select goal: TIME or DISTANCE Press the key for the selected GOAL. For the CPR profile you must select the execution mode: press 1 to walk, 2 to run = 2 Press number key 1 to select a slow speed, i.e. the walk mode; or number key 2 to select a faster speed and therefore the run mode. cont. 63
Now you must program the single steps: the different parameters for each step must be set according to the selected profile. For the constant power profile, you must set the selected GOAL value, speed and gradient: step 1: time = min. 5 step 1: distance = km 2.5 Type in the goal value with the number keys and then press ENTER to confirm and proceed. speed = km/h 5.5 Type in the treadmill speed for the first step in kilometres per hour with the number keys and then press ENTER to confirm and proceed. gradient = % 10.0 Type in the treadmill gradient for the first step in percentage with the number keys and then press ENTER to confirm and proceed. For CPR profiles, you must set selected GOAL value and the percentage of the theoretical maximum H.R. to be kept constant. step 1: time = min. 5 step 1: distance = km 2.0 Type in the goal value with the number keys and then press ENTER to confirm and proceed. cont. 64
% max H.R. = 70 Type in the percentage of the theoretical maximum heart rate you want to reach and maintain constantly during the step with the number keys, then press ENTER to confirm and proceed. insert a value or press ENTER to end At the end of every step you can: - either enter the goal value for the next step, followed by speed and gradient or by the maximum heart rate percentage, and then proceed with programming other steps; step 2: time = min. 3 step 2: distance = km or press ENTER to end the programming and save the profile. profile 01 saved The personal profile is now available together with the other six profiles, when the key is pressed. 65
3.8 Training with the Wellness Key The Wellness Key contains a series of training sessions that are part of a training program developed for a specific goal. It is specific to the single equipment; therefore the complete training program must be carried out on the same equipment that it was started on. You can train with or without chest band; the selection made at the beginning applies to all sessions until the end of the training program. Technogym recommends training with the heart rate monitor. When entering the Wellness Key for the first time, depending on whether the heart rate signal is detected, one of the following messages is displayed: always train with chest band? always train without chest band? Press ENTER to confirm and proceed, or CLEAR to delete. The assessment test The first exercise is an assessment test, which has the same characteristics of the fitness test described in section 3.6. If the test is conducted without the heart rate monitor, press the QUICK START key when you have reached the correct intensity for the exercise, as requested by the message: press QUICK START when the intensity is correct cont. 66
The message is displayed every two minutes, until the QUICK START key is pressed; after pressing the key the exercise intensity remains the same. 30 seconds before the end of the test, with or without the heart rate monitor, you must indicate the effort level you felt during the exercise: how tired are you? Type in with the number pad a value between 1 and 9, where 1 is nothing at all and 9 is extremely strong, as described in the following table that represents the Borg scale. Effort sensation 1 nothing at all 2 extremely weak 3 very weak 4 weak 5 moderate 6 somewhat strong 7 strong 8 very strong 9 extremely strong The and goal keys can also be used to increase or decrease the value in the arc until achieving the desired value. Then press ENTER to confirm and proceed. If during the test started with the heart rate monitor the heart rate signal is not detected for 100 consecutive seconds, the test is cancelled and will have to be repeated. cont. 67
The profiles The exercises of the different sessions consist of multiple steps, like the personal profiles in section The goal (time, calories or distance) is always the same for the whole training program as it is specific to the type of Wellness Key. When the Wellness Key is inserted, the session number and the total goal value are displayed on the dial. During the exercise the goal arc lights up proportionally, from left to right, until the entire goal value has expired; the numerical value of the goal is indicated on the goal arc incrementally. The following keys are enabled: - the STOP and PAUSE keys - the speed and gradient edit keys, which edit the target power in the constant power profiles, the heart rate in the constant heart rate profiles - the goal value edit keys At the end of the exercise the speed and gradient decrease for the cool down. The modifications to the load and value of the goal carried out during an exercise will also apply to the following session, according to a specific progression system. There is a minimum limit for the modification of the goal value, under which the session is not valid. If during the exercise the goal is decreased below the minimum value, one of the following messages is displayed, according to the type of goal, that warns of the minimum value: session will not be saved if you do less than 10 10" session will not be saved if you do less than 300 cal session will not be saved if you do less than 10.0 km cont. 68
At the end of the exercise it is not memorized and will be represented at the subsequent session; the results are not displayed during cool down. exercise not complete: session will be repeated When the entire program has been completed, that is all the sessions have been carried out, the Wellness Key continues to present the profile of the last session. The Wellness Key can be reset in the configuration menu; when reset the Wellness Key returns to the same condition as when purchased. 69
3.9 Performance index The performance index (PI) was invented by Technogym to give a concise and easily comparable assessment of performance in a workout. To have your performance index shown on the display with the other results at the end of the exercise, in any kind of workout, simply use the heart rate monitor for at least 3 minutes. P.I. = 10 The index is based on a rating scale ranging from 0 to 99. The higher the rating, the greater your aerobic capacity. If your performance index increases, this means that you are exercising more intensely without increasing your heart rate. The criteria used to calculate the performance index makes it possible to compare tests taken by people of different ages. In any event, you are advised to compare the results of different tests taken by the same person, or different people, working out at the same intensity for the same time. PI value under 10 from 11 to 20 from 21 to 30 from 31 to 40 over 40 Rating Improvable Fair Very good Excellent Superb 70
