DuringandfollowingOhioState,Danheldvarioustechnicallyorientedpositionsincludingdesign engineeringatkodak,operationsmanagementwithowensyillinoisandengineeringandoperations atprocter&gamble.whileatharvard,danworkedinstrategicconsultingwithtowersperrin. UponreturningtoCincinnatiafterbusinessschool,herejoinedP&Gwhereheheldseveral positionsinfinancialanalysisandstrategicplanningforthecompany. Danbeganhisprivateequitycareerin1996andjoinedRiverCitiesCapitalFundsin2001.Hehas beeninvolvedinadiversesetofinvestmentsincludingretailandconsumerproducts,businessand marketingservices,healthcareservices,enterprisesoftwareandsoftwareyasyayservice applications.rivercitiesisinvestingoutofitsfifthfundandhasroughly$500millionunder management.uponthegenerationaltransitionofrivercities,hispartnerselectedhimpresident andmanagingpartnertoassumetheleadershipwithinthefirm.danhasledinvestmentsinmany companiesduringhis20yyearprivateequitycareerandsitsontheboardsofdirectorsof companiesbothlocallyandnationally. UponreturningtotheU.S.,JamesacceptedapositionasprofessoroftrumpetattheUniversityof Connecticutandbeganabusysolocareer(heisundermanagementAndesInternational Management).In2007,heacceptedhiscurrentpositionasprofessoroftrumpetattheUniversity ofsouthcarolinaschoolofmusic.asasoloist,jameshasperformedinover30countriesand recorded15cd s,fourofwhichwerenominatedforagrammy. Depressionageparentsexpectedtheirchildrentoworkandthisexpectationmoldedthefamily;all threechildrenarestillworkingtoday. JerryearnedhisBachelorsDegreeandMastersDegreeinEducationattheUniversityofCincinnati. Thiseducationprovidedtheframeworkforhisprofessionalcareer,startingwithteachingspecial needschildrenatmilfordhighschoolbeforemovingtotheforesthillschooldistrictintheearly 1970s.HewentontobecomeaschoolcounseloratAndersonMiddleSchoolin1974andthenon toandersonhs.whenturpinopenedin1976,jerrywenttoturpinasacounselorthere. Inadditiontocounselingstudents,JerryspentmanyhoursinvariousrolesatTurpin driver educationinstructor,summerschoolprincipal,athleticeventworker allinattempttomake Turpinabetterplaceforall.Histrademarkwashisadmirationforstudentperformanceand achievement.jerrypersonallyknowsmanyofthe5,000plusgraduatesandcontinuestopraise theiracademicandcareergrowth.
