5 Ultrasound technology helps local cancer patient in fight of her life T 2016 Annual Fund The WMC Foundation Board of Directors has set a goal of $175,000 for the 2016 Annual Fund. The gifts will purchase new ultrasound equipment with 3D/4D technology for the medical center. In addition to providing more clear and concise images for parents so they can see their soon-to-be-born child in greater detail, the ultrasound equipment is used in diagnosing a wide variety of conditions affecting the organs and soft tissues of the body, including blood vessels, liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, bladder, uterus, ovaries, eyes, thyroid, and testicles. Holly Kanengieter, coordinator of the WMC Foundation says, The new ultrasound equipment will enhance our diagnostic and imaging abilities at Winneshiek Medical Center and the Foundation is looking forward to supporting the purchase of such critical equipment with gifts from the community.
