In 2005, in the French countryside near Bordeaux, Laboratoire Odysud, a small independent cosmetic laboratory, started a new innovative organic brand: Acorelle. Environmentally & socially responible. Acorelle is proud of its ecologically-oriented efforts and small environmental footprint. By utilizing 720 sqm of photovoltaic panels, its energy production is higher than its consumption. Rain water is collected and used, and all cardboard packaging is recycled. Additionally, alcohol (ethanol) is preserved in a buried tank (40 m3) to avoid handling & transportation. Made in France. 3 W H Y U S E N A T U R A L P E R F U M E? Perfume formulation. 1. Perfume is, by definition, 8% fragrance. Acorelle fragrances are 100% natural blends of essential oils and plant extracts. Honesty & transparency. Formulations of many perfume manufacturers remain completely secret and many chemical ingredients have never been subject to real toxicity tests. Acorelle guarantees that its perfumes are made with the most natural, non-toxic ingredients. 100% natural. Acorelle perfumes are paraben-free, phthalatesfree, without substances that bioaccumulate, chemical fixers, nitro musks or animal ingredients. The fragrances are 100% natural, made from concentrated active essential oils. Distilling plant extracts. Originally, all perfumes were made from natural plant extracts, the quality and volume of the very irregular crops depending on climatic conditions and the soil. Progressively, synthetic fragrances (often by-products of the petrochemical industry more stable and less costly), flooded the world of perfumery. Now all perfumes contain a large majority of such ingredients. As a result they have become less biodegradable and are less well tolerated. 2. Typically perfumes consist of approximately 80% alcohol and 8% fragrance, with the balance made up of water. Acorelle uses floral water a distillation of plants, which adds depth to its fragrances. 3. The alcohol used in almost all commercial perfumes is denatured by the addition of a foul-tasting chemical, usually DEP (diethyl phthalate)... This is to comply with regulations designed to make perfume undrinkable. Acorelle uses alcohol made from organically grown wheat and is judged to be denatured due to the essential oils added. Thus, unlike most perfumes, it contains no toxic chemicals. The perfumes are the feelings of the flowers. 8% Fragrance (100% natural) 12% Floral Water (100% organic) 80% Wheat Alcohol (100% organic) Water vs. floral water. Water is considered to be of natural origin but has not yet been certified by Ecocert/ Cosmébio. Cosmetics contain large quantities of water but it weakens the formula. Organic floral waters are a great improvement on water. They are obtained through the same process as essential oils steam distillation. The steam is enriched as it passes through the plants. It is then condensed in a coil, where it is cooled and the collected liquid therefore contains traces of essential oils and water. Organic floral water. Floral waters are rich in active principles. Each essential oil has been chosen for key aromatherapy properties and included in its fragrance family: energizing, balancing, or soothing. Eau de parfum. Each fragrance is composed by the parfumeur to include a range of head, heart and base notes in the classic style in a base of alcohol made from organically grown wheat. These components have longevity and the capacity to develop more fully through interaction with a person s skin. Balancing aromas. Absolu Tiaré: An exotic blend of orange, shiu and ylang ylang. Silky Rose: Notes of rose and geranium with facets of raspberry. Vanilla Blossom: Peru balsam, vanilla, patchouli and almond. Roll-ons. Combining complex aromatherapy blends in an organic base with no dangerous preservatives or fixatives, and delivered in a simple convenient purse-sized bottle with roll-on applicator. Energizing fragrances. Tea Garden: Lemon and bergamot with sweet mint leaf. Land of Cedar: Woody, with orange, lemon and violet notes. Pure Patchouli: With aromas of patchouli and geranium. The memory is the perfume of the heart. G E O R G E S A N D For additional information: Soothing scents. Divine Orchid: Pear, peach, hawthorn and iris, with patchouli and vanilla. Lotus Dream: Lemon, bergamot, orange, tangerine and mint. Neroli: Lemon, mandarin, verbena, orange and jasmine. The perfect fragrance. A fragrance seems right when it has perfect harmony moving seamlessly from the head notes to the heart notes to the bottom notes. It is derived, of course, from the natural elements that surround us but, ultimately, depends on the sensitivity of its originator.

6 A C O R E L L E Body mists. Acorelle Body Mists provide a light alternative to perfume, with the added bonus of skin softening organic glycerine. They can be applied lightly over the whole body and are ideal for after bath or shower at home, at the gym, or on the road! Eau fraîche. Acorelle Eau Fraîche provide a lighter, and less costly alternative to traditional perfumes, with 3% fragrance, as opposed to 8%. Available in six fragrances. For additional information:
