B- Nomenclature of each official according to E.P., U.S.P. or B.P. C- Geographical source, full description covering the morphological and microscopical characters of the either entire or powdered forms, also throw light on the adulterants, substituents and allied drugs. D- Giving an idea about the names of the active constituents, detection of them and uses. 1

2 - Intended Learning Outcomes of Course(ILOs) A-Knowledge and Understanding: At the end of this course the student will be able to: A3-mention the active constituents in herbal drug and identify the chemical means to assess the activityand genuinety A5- describe herbal drugs and natural products.. B-Intellectual Skills: At the end of this course the student will be able to: B-Applying microscopically methods for identification of drugs naturally occurring as powder in addition to powdered medicinal leaves. B5- differentiate between toxic and safe drugs either in entire or powdered form. C- Professional and practical Skills At the end of this course the student will be able to: C4- use the microscope to identify medicinal and toxic plants. C1- detect adulteration of any supplied natural drugs. D- General and Transferable Skills At the end of this course the student will be able to: D- Apply information technology skills, including word processing, database use, information retrieval through online searches, internet communication and using text books in the library for writing a report about herbal drugs. D3- Manage time effectively. D7- work effectively in a team.

Practical Microscope, laboratory chemicals, fresh, dried and powdered natural drugs, electric microtone. 5- Student Assessment Methods 1- Practical To assess the ability of students to deal with identification of natural drugs in entire or powdered form through macro- and microscopical examination. - Written To evaluate the understanding skills of students in midterm or final exam, to the studied topics of the courses. 3- Oral To assess the intellectual skills of students in identification, geographical distribution, active contents and medicinal application of natural drugs. Also evaluating the communication skills as it is an essential need for dealing with the society after graduation.
