1 How time flies. The fiscal year is a quarter through and the seasons are starting to change. Schools have started, football is in full swing and baseball is in the heat of pennant races. The Chapter has had a fantastic year so far. The Programs Committee has been hard at work with two events in Joplin and two events in Springfield totaling 9.5 hrs of continuing education being offered. The response to the programs has been very positive and we look forward to providing more quality education in the coming months. The Membership Committee is busy finalizing plans for the Fall Social at Andy B s in November. Watch for more details in the coming weeks. We will be celebrating the 75 th Anniversary of the IIA and hope everyone will come out and enjoy some time to network and relax. The Academic Relations Committee is also hard at work with plans currently in the works to be at Southwest Baptist University in October with Delta Epsilon Chi sharing about the opportunities available in the profession of Internal Audit. I want to take a moment and thank those that are serving on different committees within the Chapter. It is the volunteers serving in Programs, Membership, Academic Relations, Social Media and with our website that make this Chapter a fantastic organization. If you are not involved and would like to serve in any area of the chapter please contact a board member. We would love to get more of our membership involved to grow the chapter and offer opportunities to all. This is the latest edition of our Chapter s quarterly Newsletter. It s full of great information so please take some time to read through it and mark your calendars for our upcoming events. We would like to give a big thank you to Heather Sartin, Newsletter Chair, for all the work she does to publish the monthly Newsbrief and quarterly Newsletter for our Chapter. On behalf of Chapter leadership, we thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you at upcoming events! James Boutwell, President IIA Ozarks Chapter GREETING FROM OUR PRESIDENT LOOKING AHEAD September
