JOIN UP - for 2011 Membership Your "to do" list for 2011 starts with renewing your BMJCA membership......or for some folks it means joining for the first time!!! BMJCA, your Butte Meadows - Jonesville relies on the support of all community members in order to: maintain the web site, BMJCA.com, which has a web camera, weather station, calendar of events, and links to other interesting web sites. provide green waste dumpsters which will be available over the Memorial Day weekend organize programs, community events such as; speakers presenting subjects of local interest, a movie night, community clean up projects and the Annual Omelet Breakfast Fundraiser. In the event you ve forgotten, or don t know: The membership year for BMJCA runs from January to December. Fill out the enclosed membership form and send your check for $20 ($20 for each voting member) to the address shown on the application form. Please feel free to send an extra contribution for special projects the association undertakes and you can always contribute extra to our web site or emergency preparedness. 3 BMJCA Committee Reports Activities Committee: The Activities Committee was formed in 2009 to organize programs and outdoor activities for our community members and their guests. The committee s goal is to offer activities for fun, education, service, and a chance to get to know your neighbors better. New, last summer was our Women s Arts and Craft group. The Arts and Craft group provided General Store items for sale at the Omlette Breakfast Fundraiser. NOTE: A planning meeting for summer 2011 activities will be scheduled in March or April. If you are interested or want to share some ideas, host a program, etc. contact; Betty Volker , Cheryl Conery , Jacque Goss , or Miranda Morris Everyone is welcome. (Even men :)) Community Cleanup Committee: Please do your part in keeping our community clean. Keep the road area in front of your house clean. When you go for a walk, take a bag with you to pick up any trash you find along the road... Thank you. NOTE: The committee plans to have green waste dumpsters available again next Spring. Web Site Committee: We try to keep the web camera working all the time but sometimes... well, things don t work. Our apologies if things aren t working. 4 BMJCA News & Updates BMJCA Officers for 2011 A new Board of Directors was elected at the January 12 meeting. The new officers are: President - Steve Miller Vice Presindent - Barbara Mann Secretary - Katy Hildenbrand Treasurer - Ren Wakefield Extra! Extra! Thanks to our one outgoing board officer, former Vice President, Tom Arcoleo. Welcome to the new board officer, Secretary, Katy Hildenbrand. Thanks Barbara Mann for accepting the Vice President job... AND Thanks to Steve and Ren for hanging in there!!! Board of Directors Membership Presently there are no vacancies on the BMJCA Board...However, members are invited to let us know if you would like to serve on the board in the future. Please read the BMJCA By-laws regarding board membership (on our web site). If you would like more information contact Katy Hildenbrand or Stacy Kelso. Proposed By-Laws Changes Changes to the By-Laws for BMJCA may only be approved by its membership at the annual general meeting & members must be advised of the proposed changes. ***OFFICIAL ADVISEMENT*** At the October 2, 2010 meeting the BMJCA Board of Directors proposed the following By-Law changes: Proposed Change #1 Article III, Section I. The proposed change would permit the annual general membership meeting to be held in September, in addition to the currently permitted months of June, July, and August. Proposed Change #2 Article IV, Section II. Board members elected at the regular annual membership meeting would be installed at the October Board Meeting. Proposed Change #3 Article V, Section II. The officers of the Board of Directors would be elected at the October Board Meeting

6 Volunteer Round-up: There is always a need for volunteer workers on projects - whether it is watching dumpsters, helping pick up litter on the roadways, working on the museum, or helping at the annual breakfast. 7 Community News & Updates Jonesville Hotel Calendar The Jonesville Hotel Preservation Fund is selling 2011 calendars that have photos of the hotel.
