Shari H was nominated in December 2016 and Sandy M asked for a motion to accept Shari H as the new Intergroup Secretary by acclamation. Dianna R made the motion and Donna M seconded. Motion passed. Special THANK YOU goes out to Peggy S for her many years of service in this position. Position of Co-Secretary and Co-Activities are still open. Please ask in your rooms for volunteers as request for nominations will be brought up in next Intergroup meeting. Financial Audit - Phil S requested a yearly financial audit of Intergroup s records to be completed by February Intergroup. Mark M and Fred L volunteered and will complete the audit. A letter was read to the group by Sandy M (copy embedded below) from ISO requesting nominations for the Board of Regents. Page 3 of 9

Dianna often gets updates and changes after intergroup. Intergroup Reps can do this by ing or calling a submission to the Pinning Chairperson.. It is recommended that no meeting schedule more than 1 pinning event in a 30 day period. This is done in order to prevent pinning events being scheduled on the same date in different meeting locations. Chicagoland Intergroup will pay for the pin once the pinnee has qualified to be added to the pinning list. The Intergroup Rep will be asked if the member requesting a pinning, by their own admission, has met all following requirement s to qualify. To be eligible to be pinned, a member must have (Per the Gamblers Anonymous Guidance Code, Article VII, Section 4 stating): Abstinence from gambling and regular attendance of at least thirty-nine (39) Gamblers Anonymous meetings (exceptions can be made, via group conscience decisions, for medical reasons and military stationed overseas) in the prior 12 months, by the member s own admission, is required for pinnings and for all successive anniversaries. Date of abstinence starts from your first meeting after your last bet. 7 Phone Service Ellen Z & Peggy S (Peggy S reporting) For the month of Dec. the Phone Service received 26 calls. We are always looking for volunteers for the hours you are open. 6 months clean time is required. Information is on the Chicagoland website on how to be of service answering hotline calls. Please communicate any questions or concerns with the phone service to Ellen Z or Peggy S at Pressure Relief Mark M (Mark M reporting) Mark M is looking for a location to hold PRGM (Pressure Relief Group Meeting) training for others to be able to assist with Pressure Relief Meetings. If anyone knows of a good place, please contact him. Future dates and info regarding training will be coming. Please notify Mark M if you would like him to speak at your meeting about the different types of Pressure Relief programs and how they work. You can text or call Mark M with your name, room and date you would like him to come to your meeting. Trustees Reports Dave M No report Debbie M Proposal is being created to host the Spring 2018 International GA Conference here. There still is a lot of research needed to be done. Once the proposal is completed, Chicagoland Intergroup must vote to approve, this is expected to be done at the March 2017 meeting. More information will be available at the February Intergroup meeting. Linda S Reminded everyone to read the letter from ISO regarding the Board of Regents voting. (Letter is embedded above under New Business section of these Intergroup meeting minutes) Thank you to those who hosted the pinning in Burbank. The breakfast was great and it was a very nice pinning. There are some new prices and new literature being created. Our supply committee will be given the information. Pam E Working on the proposal for the International GA Spring Conference and searching for a hotel large enough to handle our needs. GA & Gam-Anon Spring Conference 2017 Eileen Z and Doug K (Doug K reporting) Fannie Mae candy bars are available to assist with raising funds for the Spring Conference. Bars are $2 each and Peggy S has offered smaller packages (10) for room reps to bring back to sell to their rooms. If interested in 10 or more bars please see Peggy S or Linda S. The conference theme is The Yellow Book Road. Registration Flyers were made available tonight more will be provided next month. Please take the information to your rooms. The next planning meeting will be Feb 23 at 7:00 pm at the Lisle Hyatt. Conference prices have been established and are listed on the Flyer. The biggest change from last year is that Saturday dinner will be a plated meal and will be $15.00 less than the 2016 dinner. Early registration by April 11 th on packages A-D receive a $10.00 discount. We may have an on-line registration process for ordering conference shirts. Conference & Planning meeting location: Hyatt Regency,1400 Corporetum Drive, Lisle, IL Volunteers are always needed. Reminder There is a Conference Savings Club. Members can save money ahead of time to pay Page 7 of 9
8 for the conference by making small deposits. Money can be handed into Eileen Z at intergroup. Eileen will keep a ledger of money submitted. The actual funds will be given to the Treasurers, deposited and held in trust. Members will be refunded their money if they later decide not to attend the conference. Holiday Party (2016) Pat F & Tim F (Pat F reporting) No report Picnic (2017) Joe G & Shari H (Shari H reporting) Picnic Permit was purchased for Sunday August 20, Same location as previous years. Spirituality Conference 2017 Peggy S & Cindy M (Peggy S reporting) With the unexpected and sad passing of Maria E - Cindy M (Algonquin Meeting and former Intergroup Chair) will co-chair the Spirituality Conference with Peggy. $450 for pre-registration was turned into the Treasurers tonight. To date we have a total of 70 registrations received (43 tonight). Thank you to John A for collecting tonight s registrations. It is a wonderful day of fellowship. We will have several GA & Gam-Anon speakers and breakout discussions around the theme, Spiritual Reflections. Registration flyers were made available. It is a one day GA & Gam-Anon open event held from 10 am 4pm. Others who support you in recovery are welcome to attend, even if they are not in Gam-Anon. Registration opens at 9:15 a.m. 9:45 a.m. We will have coffee and donuts available. Lunch will also be provided. WALK UPS WELCOME The cost is $10.00 per person (same as last year). The flyer will also be on the website. Please promote the event in your rooms. All orders have been filled. A supply report was provided. Some rooms owe money. Please let Mary know if you have any questions. Reminder: Your room will need to place a Supply order for the pin(s) far enough ahead of time to ensure it is available for the pinning event. (Your room will not be charged for the pin this is a CIG expense). Please tell Pinning chairperson (Dianna R) if you need a pin and let a Supply chairperson (Mary W or Elsa S) know, as well. Treasurers Phil S & Tom H (Tom H reporting) During Intergroup, please ensure room contributions are submitted as soon as possible, contributions received after 8:00 p.m. do not allow for the treasury report to be completed before the end of the meeting. The following financial reports were made available to intergroup members in order to keep finances as transparent as possible. o Checking Account Balance A monthly hand written report that includes every check issued, receipts deposited and funds held in trust As of 0/10/2017 we have available funds for CIG of $20, (this figure is the checking account balance less funds held in trust). o Contribution Report (Listed by Room) - Documents details by room for ISO and CIG contributions and Supply purchases. Please check the Contributions Report that is handed out at Intergroup. Reps are responsible for ensuring it is correct. Pinning report A hand out was provided for rooms with pinning funds. This report details pinning funds held in trust for rooms that have CIG holding their pinning money. Report dated 1/09/2017 shows there is currently $2, pinning funds held in trust. Reps are responsible for ensuring pinning funds held in trust for their rooms are correct. *Please only take a copy if your room has CIG holding your pinning fund.
