After a fun recruitment season in Fall of 2017 filled with happy hours, pumpkin carving, and a core class review cookout, we welcomed eleven new brothers and sisters from the Classes of 2020 and We then held our annual Homecoming Tailgate and were delighted to have so many current and past members attend for a day of good food, good people and good times! We will once again be hosting the Alumni Tailgate on October 6th, In the spring of 2018, we continued our philanthropic tradition of making raised dog beds to donate to the Franklin County Dog Shelter and helped new members learn the basics of power tools. We also welcomed alumni to the Midwest Veterinary Conference with our annual alumni reception at Barley s Brewcadia. In autumn of 2018, we are eager to welcome new members into our family and are looking forward to hosting the Alpha Psi National Conference in January. We hope to continue to expand our new Adopt an Active Alumni Donor program where our newest members are partnered with alumni who share similar career areas of interest and are willing to sponsor a portion of their initial dues. We also look forward to the Alumni Tailgate on October 6th and the Alumni Reception in the spring. We are excited to continue planning other brotherhood-building events and look forward to seeing you soon! Alpha Psi Alpha Chapter 1

2 CHAPTER ADVISOR SPOTLIGHT When (actual) radiographs need interpretation, who re you gonna call? For most, their immediate answer is Dr. Eric Green, DVM, DACVR Chief of Diagnostic Imaging Service and Radiation Oncology at OSU-VMC. Dr. Green is a familiar face to all Alpha Psi members as he teaches VME courses from 1st through 3rd year and is a mentor to all 4th years rotating through his service. Dr. Green is our Chapter Advisor and we are so grateful for his guidance! Thank you for all you do Dr. Green! CURRENT BOARD President: Mariah Skiles 20 Vice President: Rachel Leist 20 Secretary: Julia Azarcon 21 Treasurer: Kevin Shade 20 Historian: Madison Klein 21 Merchandise & Fundraising: Marybeth Lowe 20 Social & Recruitment: Jonathan Munoz 20 & Catherine Marshall 20 Philanthropy & Professional Development: Jamie Weimer 21 National Conference Update Treasurer Kevin Shade and President Katie Kuperman had the opportunity to represent Alpha Chapter at the national meeting held at the University of Georgia this past year, College of Veterinary Medicine. They presented the annual Chapter Report sharing all of the wonderful activities OSU AY has participated in during the past year. In addition to learning about the history of our beloved fraternity and its link to OSU s own CVM, they met brothers and sisters from each AY chapter and shared information to help with everything from recruitment to merchandise sales. If you are interested in Alpha Psi merchandise or would like to make a donation, please contact us at osu.alphapsi.1@gmail.com or make your donation via Paypal at paypal.me/ohiostatealphapsi. 2
