3 Member of the Term Member of the Term is our way of recognizing individuals who are exceptionally dedicated to and involved in PVMA Member of the Term points are awarded when you attend member meetings, volunteer trips, activities, clinics, and workshops, as well as assist in fundraising activities and more Two Members of the Term will be recognized during Week 9 of each term and awarded a small prize of their choice Members who attended one of the Vet School Tours need to Activity Coordinator Taylor to earn their MoT point Questions regarding MoT can be directed to Secretary and Historian Michaela

4 Club Apparel $8.00 per T-shirt Women s vs. men s Limited supply Currently available! $10.00 per T-shirt $25.00 per sweatshirt Unisex, but runs large Will be available by our Week 9 Member Meeting Production date is November 6th Will be available for pick-up by our Week 9 Member Meeting Club apparel fees are due by the end of our meeting tonight and can be payed to Treasurer Holly by either cash or check made out to "PVMA at OSU" A limited number of excess garments were ordered and will be available on a first-come, firstserve basis at our Week 9 Member Meeting

5 Mentor/Mentee Program Meant to encourage relations between PVMA members and promote a more interactive club Five (5) Member of the Term points for being a mentor and three (3) Member of the Term points for being a mentee Mentors and mentees must pay PVMA dues for all three terms ($40) and attend four of the five PVMA meetings each term Applications due 11:59 P.M. 7 Upcoming PVMA Activities Pumpkin Patch Event at Davis Family Farm Saturday, October 27th Carpool will leave the Withycombe parking lot at 1:00 P.M. Bring money for pumpkins and snacks, though we will be covering admission! Sign-ups will be at the Week 5 Meeting with Activity Coordinator Taylor

8 Bandaging and Handling Skills Workshop Sign up to learn from Dr. Hazzard and Dr. Rosenlicht how to correctly bandage small animals and handle them effectively during an examination This workshop will be held Tuesday, November 6 th of Week 7 in Magruder Hall, Room 298 (this room) Session 1: 5:00 6:00 P.M. Session 2: 6:00 7:00 P.M. There will be no regular member meeting during Week 7! Sign up with Vice President Kaylee after the meeting!

10 OSU Lambing Crew Must attend lambing orientation Returning volunteers: October 18 th at 6pm New volunteers: October 25 th at 6pm Additional orientation available as needed T-shirts available for $10 (optional) Receive fun, hands-on experience Lambing starts Winter Term: Starts: 1/11/19 at 4 P.M. 11 Loop Abroad: Study Abroad Opportunity Study exotic and small Veterinary Medicine with aspiring veterinarians over the world Become emerged in the local culture Opportunities for upper division credit

12 APVMA National Symposium March 8 th through 9 th, 2019 (7 th through 10 th including travel days) at Pennsylvania State University Costs about $350 per person, along with a $145 registration fee Could be more or less depending on how many people we bring! We are working on putting together a fundraiser to help lower costs! Registration opens on November 17th at 9am! Sign up with Symposium Coordinator Emma at the end of the meeting if you are interested! You must notify Emma if you are absolutely certain you will be attending by November 2nd at 11:59 P.M.
