Update on the Christmas Party We are in the process of finding a location for the Christmas Party. For our Christmas Project we will be donating supplies for teenager gifts for the Christmas Bureau. If you could bring them to the general meetings in Sept., Oct., and Nov. that would be great. The theme for the party is a cookie exchange. If you want to participate, you will be asked to bring a certain number of cookies (depending on how many participate) packaged in ziploc bags so each person will get samples of each cookie. More details to follow. GIFT WRAPPING FUNDRAISER REQUEST! Please put aside any ribbons, gift wrap, bows, etc for our gift wrapping fundraiser. You can bring it to a meeting when the time approaches. The Brain Injury Association of Kansas & Greater Kansas City will be presenting two Family & Survivor Seminars this fall. The Annual Family & Survivor Seminars, held every fall, provide BIAKS an opportunity to positively impact the brain injury experience for survivors and family members. Participants meet fellow colleagues on the journey while learning more about resources and strategies that may prove helpful after a brain injury. This fall two Seminars are being held: Wichita, KS October 1, 2016 at Via Christi St., Joseph 3600 E. Harry St. The seminar will include cognitive strategies, visual optometry, and government and other resources. Overland Park, KS November 5, 2016 at Mid America Rehabilitation Hospital, 5701 W. 110th St. Participants will hear about positive responses to depression, feature separate break outs for caregivers and survivors, and alternative therapies. 4 SAFE KIDS COALITION MEETING Anyone? Katie is asking for a member of our club to go to the Safe Kids Coalition meetings to represent Pilots. The meetings are from 9:30 to 11:00am at Katie s office. The next 2 meeting are on September 29 th and October 20 th. Please let Katie know if you are available.
