3 OPEN STATEMENT TO ALL PARENTS, MANAGERS AND ALL THOSE INVOLVED IN SKERRIES TOWN FC. Skerries Town FC are very proud to introduce our new development plan for It is bold and progressive and we believe it can only make Skerries Town FC a stronger and better club for the future. Before we look to that future, I would like to give you an overview of our recent past and highlight the motivation in having to embrace a new direction for the club and to improve the club s general preception within our community. Skerries Town FC has enjoyed great success over the years and we seek to carry that proud history into every game we play. That said, despite all the best efforts over the last few years, our club has been struggling to advance beyond the day-to-day commitments of fixtures, competitions, fund-raising and maintaining the general running of the club. This has been due to many factors; lack of development budget, poor return on efforts from fundraising and most notably, lack of volunteer support in general. This has meant that those that have been committed to giving their time were and continue to be, spread too thin to be able to fully address the need for improving our club s facilities, it s image and to focus on a much needed plan for the future. Clearly something radical needed to be done. In July of 2017, during the summer break the club committee met many times to formulate a progressive plan to advance and modernise the club and review/overhaul it s outdated structure, polices and procedures. Over the following months we unofficially introduced the first step in our club s evolution with the introduction of our new club crest. It s modern design encapsulates the very heart of our redevelopment plan; it s respects our history yet reinvents our image for a new generation. The crest design and all subsequent designs were created by Gerry Coleman (u10 Manager) from Gerard Coleman Design and was met with great enthusiasm and glowing approval from both managers, parents and players alike. Thankfully, we now have a new, modern club identity that will bring a new focus to both the club and our image within the town. During that time, we also introduced the concept/design of an all new, bespoke club kit. We felt that it was important to modernise our kit as it s the biggest recurring and traveling advertisement that our club has and its styling needed to turn heads (as you ll see below). We tested the design with many parents (on the sidelines during games or at training sessions) and all reviews were positive and supportive. Up to now, there have been about 10 different types of jersey circulating at any one time, meaning we have a very confused identity This needed to be addressed. It is with great pride that we can announce the immediate implementation of a new, official club kit (see images below) that will be used by all teams (U8 - Seniors) and will make it s official debut at the launch of the new 2018 season. It s a bold and radical departure for the club as we park the hoops and embrace a new modern direction in keeping with the new crest while still retaining our historical colours of green and white and of course, beloved goat. We do appreciate that some teams have recently arranged new shirts themselves via sponsorship last year and we (the club) respect this and will undertake to migrate the sponsors branding onto the new shirts as required without those teams incurring further cost. There is never a right time to make such a change but as a new season comes upon us if feels fitting that we start it with a united display (both visually and collectively) and send our new message out to both our competition and our community.

4 We also reconigised that our website was not working as it should in bringing both club and parents together. It was old, limited in scope and needed modrnisation. With that in mind, we commissioned Gerry to set about the construction of a purpose built website and management app which will serve as a central hub for all information for parents, managers and players. Once live, parents will be able to view information about their team s results, upcoming fixtures and access information about mangers, club history and upcoming events. The site will also allow parents to be able to register and pay for their children s membership online and there will be an online shop where the club will develop and sell Skerries Town FC branded merchandise and providing online shopping for items such as tracksuits, bags, training gear etc. This will help the club s to develop fa budget for expansion and growth. The website itself (see images below) will be live towards the end of January and will coincide with a full local press release outlining the official launch of our new development plan. The website will also be open to taking club registration for the 2018 season. Payments for membership can be made in full or spread over three months (Jan/Feb/March) if required. The new identity, new crest, new club kit and our new website are a very clear and positive answer to the negative issues mentioned above. It demonstrates the passion, belief, drive and commitment from all those involved in the rebrand. At this stage, I would like to thank everyone involved in implementing this mammoth task of reinvention and for giving our club a new lease of much needed life. Everyone involved on the committee has had or has a child playing in a team as does every manager. I ask you as members and as parents to PLEASE be part of the solution and give us some of your precious time - (the more that help, the less we ALL have to do!) For those interested in training, possible management of a team or even helping out an existing manager there is absolutely zero experience required and if being trained to help was something you might be interested in, then we the club will arrange it and pay for it. Please understand, without your help, all the will in the world, new websites, new kits and new crests will mean little if there is are volunteers to implement this development plan. We will only be back to where we were before and I know none of us want that! Remember, this club is YOUR club, we are ALL shareholders in its future and we have to step up and be part of its growth, nurture its potential for greatness and provide a pride to the legacy that our children will be proud to continue. We desperately need support from you, the parents and while we appreciate that you come out (in all weather) to support your child we simply need more... we need you now to step up and be a part of this new direction (in any capacity) and give us all the chance to make it a better club for ALL of our children.

8 SKERRIES TOWN FC 2018 Season Fees 240 per member. (for families with two or more children 320 capped fee) Fee breakdown: Player Registration 80 - Team Kit (Home Jersey, Away Jersey, Shorts & Socks)* 50 - Astro Fees for 2018 Season (Feb 1st - Mar 31st & Oct 1st - Nov 30th)* Payment: all payments and registration must be made via the club s website. Payments can be made in full or spread over three months (Jan-March only). * PLEASE NOTE: The squad kit will be issued every two years: 2018 & for 2019 & 2021 the club will be introducing a full training kit. * Astro fees for this year have to be paid in full and up front by order of the Community Centre - these fees will replace the bi-weekly payment which was used as before.
