7 How To Help We would love to have you working beside us to better the lives of teen parent families and our community as a whole. Volunteers are what make this all happen! With your help, we can do great things and impact the lives of vulnerable, young families. So, if you are interested in reaching out to teen moms and their children in our community bring your heart and your talents and come prepared to receive as well as to give. The following are ways you can help: 1. Join our M.O.R.E. Impact Team of monthly supporters. 2. Share your talents and skills to provide organizational or program support. 3. Become a Mentor/Life Coach to a teen mom. 4. Provide childcare or meals at a teen mom support group. 5. Become a M.O.R.E. Impact liaison in your church, community, business, etc. 6. Join our M.O.R.E. Impact Prayer Team. 7. Donate diapers and wipes for teen moms in our community. Host a GraceSon Housing Foundation Fundraising Event You can also support our endeavors in unique ways that take fundraising out of the box and into your hands. We rely on people like you to spread the word, grass-roots style, about the important work we are doing in our community; in doing so, you help support our capacity to continue to serve. This is a fun, personalized way to plug in to what's happening in your community and to connect your friends, family and neighbors to our organization. 1. Home Event. Host a dinner, mixer, or cocktail fundraising party in your own home. 2. Garage/Yard Sale. Have more stuff than you know what to do with? Sell it and contribute all proceeds to GraceSon Housing Foundation! 3. Arts & Entertainment Night. Get a local artist, musician, dancers, comedian, etc. to donate their time to perform at a fundraising event for GraceSon Housing Foundation. 4. Sponsored Event. Participating in a race? Get your friends and family to sponsor you for the event (race, walkathon, cycling, etc.) and donate proceeds to GraceSon Housing Foundation. 5. Letter/ Campaign. Simply write to your friends and family, asking them to donate an amount they can afford to GraceSon Housing Foundation.

9 More Than A Facility It is the vision and heart of GraceSon Housing Foundation to join forces with other nonprofits working to impact the lives of teen moms and their children, to break generational cycles of poverty. In the future we will be able to house young moms and their children, yet we desire to help teen moms now. There are organizations currently helping teen moms, offering various support groups, classes, and information to meet their needs. We do not want to reinvent the wheel, but want to support and come alongside them in their efforts. There are resources out there for teen moms and their children, yet they are relatively disconnected, making it difficult and confusing for them knowing what is what and when activities, classes, etc. are happening. Through experience and research we acknowledged a gap in communication for these young moms. A vision was born that these girls need a HUB or One Stop Shop for connecting them and informing them of what is happening or available to them each month. GraceSon Housing is seeking and working to develop this vision, which will allow teen moms in our community to more readily find and connect to resources they need to meet all of their needs. GraceSon Housing Foundation is a 501(c)(3) extending God's love to provide housing and hope for teen moms and their babies. Our homes provide a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for the Teen Mom and her baby to thrive and grow. Our holistic approach provides positive, healthy relationship opportunities, life skills training, educational and vocational opportunities, and the opportunity for life long change. We desire to break the multi-generational cycles of substance abuse, poverty, physical abuse, neglect, and dependency on public assistance as a permanent solution. We are committed to setting up teen moms and their babies for lifelong success in every aspect of their lives. We will accomplish this through communication technologies like Facebook, GHF Website, Twitter, Phone Apps, and more. There are so many places this could go and it would be an incredible resource for young moms in our community. We are excited about the opportunity to begin work developing this program.

10 Letter from the President of the Board/Executive Director Dear Supporters, It is an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to serve as President and Executive Director of GraceSon Housing Foundation. It has been exciting to be a part of what God is doing in our community, and in the lives of teen moms and their children. Each day I am encouraged by the people and organizations, like Spokane YoungLives and Life Services that are, and have been, paving the way to meet the needs of this forgotten group. The needs for these young girls are tremendous. Yet, what continually rises to the top of those needs, is housing. Many of these young moms experience neglect by one or both parents. Some suffer from physical abuse. Others wish to escape substance abuse within the home. They desire a safe, secure, environment for themselves and their child, but the options are extremely limited. I look forward to joining forces with other like-minded organizations to increase the impact on the lives of these young moms, and generations of lives to come. There is much work to do in helping them and their children, break free from multigenerational cycles of poverty. In 2013 and into 2014 GraceSon Housing Foundation will focus our efforts on establishing a strong board of directors, developing program and services, and building an organizational model that can be replicated. We will also make decisions regarding the course of action for the facility. It is imperative that we take the proper time and steps to prepare the field. The housing facility for these young moms is important, but our desire is to truly transform lives for long-term success. Without taking time to prepare and plan, we will simply be just that, a facility, that only fills a short-term need, and will not sustain. We want to empower these girls with the tools they will need to experience that long-term success. We want to show them a love they have never been shown before, God s love. We desire all of this to happen in a safe, secure, nurturing environment of grace. This can only be possible by creating a plan that allows us to sustain our operations and ministry. The Board of Directors is the heartbeat of the organization. We will work to develop and recruit a strong board that can propel this organization to new heights. Within that development we will emphasize and offer training in leadership in order to strengthen our team. We believe our leadership ability determines our effectiveness and impact as an organization. It is our desire to begin helping moms right now, despite not having a livable facility. We will work to develop and implement our program and services. We will also continue to link arms and build relationships with other like-minded organizations, joining forces, to increase the impact on teen moms in our community. Through detailed strategic planning we will continue in our efforts to building a solid foundation and structure both for the short and long-term. This will include regular board meetings, annual reports, developing policies and procedures, position result descriptions, and volunteer and volunteer-staff recruitment.

11 Letter Continued Finally, we will focus on making a decision regarding our housing facility. Currently, the home is in unlivable conditions. We will continue planning, and gathering information to make a decision about the best course of action. As we do this, we will be establishing and building financial systems and accounts for the capital project along with a separate trust fund for sustainability. We believe it is of high importance to plan for sustainment. Now that we have obtained our official 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt status we will begin our fundraising efforts to have the capacity to house and sustain program for these young moms and children. We currently lack the funding to begin construction. Therefore, we will be working to obtain funding through individual donors, grants, corporations and businesses, local churches, and events. We currently do not have a specific time frame for construction to be complete, but we are working diligently to make sure this facility, in all aspects, will meet all legal and physical requirements, that will allow us to fully serve and minister to teen moms and their children. We want to build a facility that serves its purpose and will survive the test of time. I am confident in the building of this organization along with the completion of the housing project itself. My confidence comes from seeing all the incredible things that God has done in a few-short months. The financial support that we have already received from individuals, churches, and businesses, even prior to receiving our 501 (c)(3), has been astounding. We received free office space, furniture and equipment. Our first grant application was accepted from Construction for Change which will provide some funding, construction management, design, and capacity building for our project. The volunteer and volunteerstaff support is beyond my expectations for such a new organization. Their dedication, self-sacrifice, and commitment is contagious, and because of their hard work, the community is seeing the need and they are rallying behind their efforts. These are a few of the major highlights. Each day we see God continually at work, providing all that we need and more. We press on in confidence as He shows Himself faithful daily. It is just the beginning and I am excited about being a part of what is to come in the next year and beyond!
